Hi, I'm new to MSFS, and I've been playing around with the Horizon 787-9, downloaded from Orbx. I had it working quite nicely, but all of a sudden I lost all sounds (buttons, engines, everything) for the Genx verison. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the issue persists. Any ideas what might be the issue? I'm on Windows 10 and they just pushed an update... not sure if that broke something? Appreciate any help, Daniel

I am creating a FIP gauge that will allow activation of various switches not covered by the Saitex/Logitech Switches Panel, based on Baron G58 switches plus a couple of gauges to show current status . I want to include the Prop Amps gauge but cannot find the variable for it. Does anyone know if it exists and if so, what is it.

I purchased this from the Marketplace, I start it up and the stupid thing doesn't have the TDS in it, then I go to look for some kind of documentation about what to do, and their so-called manual has some cryptic one-liner. There is supposed to be some difference if you purchased from them?? I emailed support and have heard nothing yet, I was hoping maybe someone here had gone thru this and can tell me what I need to do. Of course it has a tablet that also doesn't work. I'd say what I think right now, but it would come out as "word not permitted" I imagine 😛

Hi I'm wondering if I can make MSFS 2024 my default sim between MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024? And How do I go about doing so? Any help or info is greatly appreciated. TIA I'm on PC btw.

Part 3 of my MSFS 2020 memories.... the eve before 2024 arrives. Most of these are from this year.... I spent a LOT of this year repainting general aviation addons haha! I even painted some of the official liveries in the Black Square Dukes, along with TimHH. This was also the year I tried to get to know the FBW Airbus more in depth. I did do a few flights, but I think I'm just a GA guy at heart. I was on my way to TEB here This was a interesting freeware aircraft, the E-3 Sentry (AWACS), it was mostly an external model, but I thought it looked pretty nice! Most likely the real version would be based at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. We finally got the FSW Beech Sierra! It is very similar to the Musketeer Super III that I fly irl! (the musketeer has the dual G5s as well!) Les has done a great job working with Mark at FSW on this one. It's got some of the best sounds and visuals of any addon! Did you know they are working on an all analog panel?? The year of the Working Title G3X upgrade! I had been hoping for this replica since we first saw the original when the sim came out (major disappointment from the real unit!) But this one is very accurate to the real one...we've been spoiled by WT being part of the Asobo team! It's got a nice little engine monitor too - here it is in the XCub Here's a paint I'm quite proud of - it took a very long time as well... it has 3 different metallic properties/layers and was quite difficult to paint (not perfect but decent!) I ended up doing a German and USA registration. Here it is, one of my paints included with the Black Square Piston Duke! It looks great on the Duke. I've put many hours on this addon! I've always enjoyed Nick's addons as they make use of the dynamic registration (tail number - you can type whatever you like and it still looks decent) Here's a lesser known addon (and my paint - it contains red - shocker haha) - the Cockspur E50P Phenom. It's a decent addon, not quite as in depth as a Black Square etc, but still fun! Raul from FSReborn is making the E55P, which will be a welcomed addition to 2024. FlightBeam's SFO came out and as usual it's incredible! The best of the best without a doubt. Those lucky controllers have a sharp looking tower! The Asobo Aviat Husky... did not come out in 2024 haha.... but I finally caved and purchased it this year. I find it to be a nice little addon for VFR low and slow. The flight model isn't awful either. It comes with tires, skis, and floats! Let's just say that this amazing paint (not mine) was a factor for me deciding to finally buy it LOL! Orbx's MSFS version of 2WA1 Diamond Point arrived.... I have 155 airports in my Pacific NorthWest addon linker folder! I think a majority of my flying was in this region. The Classic Aircraft Simulations J-3 Cub! Out of nowhere, a beautiful rendition of the classic cub. You can even hand-prop this thing. It's a superb addon with a few beloved paints. Check out this beautiful Pro Line 21 mod by 'Husk' for the default king air 350i. It's quite good for freeware! Husk also did a G1000 NXi variant. The freeware and payware community really make MSFS shine! The SWS RV8 arrived with the new G3X - paired with my precious TDS GTNxi as the navigator, it became one of my most flown recent addons. It cruises around 180 ktas - so it get's up and goes. Here's a WIP shot of one of my paints. It was done in Adobe Substance and Photoshop. Here's an immaculate RV8 paint done by guru @Tim-HH. It's easily in my top 5 favorite paints of all time category. I'm at my virtual hangar in McCall, Idaho. (Orbx KMYL) After working on some RV8 paints, I was inspired to paint up a lovely Evoke design for the SWS RV14. I was suprised at how good this turned out. I've learned a TON over the last year+ about painting. MSFS 2024 holds some new challenges - can't wait to start painting those aircraft. Another paint of mine (a collab with Master Painter @Steve Dra )- for the incredible Black Square TBM 850. This was one of the most popular TBM paints (toot my own horn!) Tim refurbished the stock paint (this is the nicer version which adds metallic properties) on the Piston Duke - mind blown on how lovely this paint and addon are! Here I am in the summer flying to KMKE. Tim painted another stunner, replicating the factory demonstrator for Rocket Engineering's B60T Royal Turbine Duke. I'm flying over the Big Apple with SamScene New York Times payware. This was a paint that would not have happened if it weren't for my good friend TimHH. He was able to masterfully design the cowl on Carenado's Waco - I did not have the skill to make it so beautifully. I am extremely grateful for TimHH! He's shared so much of his knowledge and talent with me. This is a great last pic of 2020! It's the excellent CL-415 from the 2024 pre-order. Someone just got a free car wash LOL!!! It's been a real journey from 2020 on with new developers, new users (tons of new younger users - it's a great thing!) and new memories. I can't to see everyone in MSFS 2024!

Although this is pretty much subjective, it can be empirically measured. So I will share my bias. Please share yours too. With all the euphoria surrounding MSFS 2024, it’s easy to overlook just how much life is still left in MSFS 2020. Lossless Scaling has just given my old RTX 3050 a new lease on life. I lowered my native monitor refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz I turned off any V-Sync options in-game and elsewhere, capping my FPS to 20 using RTSS only. Set LS to x3 mode with Performance Mode enabled. Enabled Draw FPS to monitor performance. That's all really. I got smoothness when panning... and "50-60" fps in a dense environment and demanding aircraft. The best part is that my GPU is only working to achieve 20 FPS while X3 extends it to "appear as" 60. Temp is somewhat lower. There are some drawbacks. But they are far more tolerable than Frame Rate Gen DLL.

Hi, first post! I recently started using Axis and Ohs and I went all out and setup an arduino and rotary encoders as a midi device. It’s working great for altitude and speed because they have built in INC and DEC events. It feels really good, but I’m having trouble getting the heading bug to work. Things I’ve tried: - Looking for any kind of script that has a INC/DEC for heading instead of just a SET. Don’t seem to see anything - Using a MIDI value coming out of the control as an axis. This works well except that I can only send values because 0-127, meaning I can’t do small changes - Creating a RPN script and binding the LEFT and RIGHT events. Something like (PMDG:MCP_Heading) 1 +/- (>K:SET_HDG) This last one is as close as I can get but because of the nature of the script, it doesn’t actually increment with each turn because of what I’m guessing is a lag between setting the heading and the variable updating. A solution (maybe) could be setting up the script to only run one at a time which would be super slow but atleast be accurate? I’m not sure. I’m also having the same issue with setting the altimeter except there does seem to be an event for kollsman inc/dec. Except they don’t work on PMDG, atleast the 737 :( Any direction here would also be greatly appreciated. Hoping I did this right, thank for any help! JP

Hi Nico, I'm doing some plane spotting at Mexico City MMMX, RealTraffic is showing the correct METAR with a QNH 30.48, but PSXT is showing 1017 instead of 1032. That makes approaching traffic land before the runway. When QNH matches correctly, traffic lands on the correct runway spot. Thx. Jaime. Monterrey, Mexico

For any painters out there who will be undertaking the task of painting liveries for the new iFly737 Max. Could you please seriously consider "Freedom One" for Southwest. I understand it would be fictional and not realistic. Could be a Paypal tip for it too. Much Obliged. PS: I have posted this on the discord for Flight 1 and iFly. Cheers!

Hello, Lorby: I've been away from the sim for awhile but I'm back and I'm trying to connect the X-Touch Mini to AAO (actually with the X-Touch Gauge), but that's only after I can get the X-Touch to work with AAO by itself! So, here's what I've got: AAO version 4.30 b12 for MSFS. I downloaded AAO and installed it per your instructions. The X-Touch is the latest version and set up in "Standard" Mode (as opposed to MC Mode). When I try to assign the X-Touch as a device, it isn't there. However, MIDI Devices ARE enabled and when I "Show MIDI Devices", the X-Touch appears on both panels! I attempted to paste a screen shot of the Assign Button screen but the site wouldn't allow me to; so, when I clicked on "Device", it gave me the choice of "-", "Keyboard", "Mouse", and "Voice". I do not understand why the X-Touch and AAO won't play pretty. I'm hoping you have a clue because I haven't!

On the SR 22 is anyone having an issue with the side yoke trim settings not displaying at all. So pretty much I can't tell how much trim I have because the side yoke does not move at all to reflect elevator and rudder trim. I can only tell when I switch over to the external view what my elevator trim settings are.

Is anyone having a problem downloading from the Marketplace via Content Manager? It seems to be stuck in PENDING?? Thanks

I just purchased the ATR and was wondering if there is away to load the MSFS 2020 flight plan to the FMS from the Nav Log or from a saved flight plan file I vaguely remember the Flight 1 ATR FMS had a load option. Thank you!

I have watched some videos on the ATR FMS. Just wondering if there is there a good FMS trainer application similar to what Garmin did for the GTN 750? I did some searching. There was one company that had a reasonably priced training app, but it was primarily for the A380 or jet A/C. Thanks!

I am looking for a good touring aircraft C172. Piper Warrior, etc. GNS 530. Pretty simple… I just purchased Anyone Fly from Flight1 Payware /Stock. Thanks!

I love flying the classics! thought Id share part of my collection of vintage aircraft.

Is there an issue with the logbook? When I complete my flight it appears to display the same flight from July 1st. viewing the logbook doesn’t look right at all! thanks!

Has anybody done Cockpit Sharing with apps like Your Controls? I think it only supports MSFS 2020 stock aircraft. MS Game Pass support was logged on to my system via their remote app. He did some updates to GamePass and I launched MSFS 2020 and he was able to view my flight in real time. No lag. Thanks!

Any thoughts on the Carenado PC12? The review rating is 3.5 stars on the Marketplace. Is it possible to read the reviews, when I click on it, it gives me a chart of the ratings, but no way to access the reviews? Thanks!
