Aerosoft Schiphol(EHAM)

Featured Replies

Why get something for free, if you can pay for it... :( Can you show a terminal up close and a taxiway up close, please. From above, those shots are great, but how does it all look zoomed in. Does it cover all seasons? Are there any dynamic vehicles driving around? It looks, to say it in Dutch, kaal. :(
I see the point of view of those who don't want the whole Netherlands and require other details which may come with a payware version but anyway here's some close up shots of Schipol as requested.John

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

"Come on Aerosoft, never mind what a certain member of your team says :( it's time to support some of the people that supported YOU. " Hear hear! :( Where are we? ....+52 :(

Thanks for those. It actually looks better than expected, but yeah, I would still want a new Aerosoft version. Cloud9's EHAM was actually the very first scenery I bought. Boxed and I bought in an aviation/simulation store near Schiphol.

How do you even begin to compare FS9 and FSX sales? You would need a new product (not a v2 of something and not the umpteenth texture upgrade program, something truly new) that is distributed and sold as two separate versions, one for FS9, one for FSX (no buy one, get the other as well). Only that would start to give some kind of idea about paying user numbers. I can understand that developers are pushing FSX, it makes more sense from a business perspective. Unfortunately, developers are not charities. FSX is the newer platform, FS9 the older and developed for for three+ more years than FSX, so there are limits to what can be done, technically and practically. Logically FSX products will sell better today.
It looks like Imaginesim are going to be producing separate FS2004 and FSX versions of their new sceneries, so they will be in a position to determine which is more popular.Oh, and their KSJC has just been released for FS2004...http://www.imaginesim.com/ksjc01.htm

Yes, just read the explanation. It does look like interest in their sceneries for FSX has increased. But it doesn't appear to me that they'll be dropping FS9 support anytime soon.Speaking of which, I must give them my support and go buy KSJC!

Hi,Jim here, I handle imaginesim support, as well as being head dogsbody, chief bottle washer and tea/coffee maker. I don't as a rule post on forums but this is such an interesting thread....We will be supporting FS2004 for as long as it's financialy sustainable. At the moment we sell approx 85:15 in favour of FS2004, so it looks like FS2004 fans still vastly out-weigh FSX, at least when it comes to using our airports that is. The figures are backed up with customer support requests too, nearly everything that comes across my desk is from FS2004 users. Either that or our FSX products are perfect! So we will be staying with FS2004 for a long time yet. Personally it's my favoured FS platform and I suppose it will stay that way until most simmers PC setups get powerful enough to really take advantage of FSX. Once the community as a whole start getting higher-end PC's then it's a matter of evolution and FS2004 can look forward to a long and happy retirement.

+54I have not dowloaded the freeware because I want AES support and I agree, I don't need the entire country - EHAM.

Thanks for dropping by Jim! Imagine is easily my favorite scenery developer and your post is reassuring. :(
