"Even Ozzy's wagging his tail again. Liam who?"

I've read that 1.0 is required for 2.0

It will require the purchase of REX 1. It is kinda like a big thank you from a great company that appreciates it's custumers and shows it.

Its more of a fix for the weather engine and localisation issues to me, rather than a big thankyou, but looking forward to its release, and at least they've spent their time making sure they have it right, hopefully that will be the case :(

For me REX is the top 1 addon in my FSX and now i can

They mention injecting environmental textures into FSX in a whole new way. I wonder if it means it can be done in real time, without reloading the sim?

Great news really looking forward to it. I just had a bit of a thick moment, wondering whether the date was in the American format with the month first or the European format with the month in the middle!!! :( Unless Tim et al has devised some way of going back in time...LOL! Sorry it's been a long day and I haven't had much sleep! Thanks for the heads up.Rhydian

That thought occurred to me too when I saw the graphic they had created for the release date, which, as you say, at least in the UK means it is due to be released four months ago.Anyway, I'm off to put my Rod Taylor smoking jacket on, then go back in time to download it. Assuming the Morlocks don't get me, I'll be back later to let you know if it is any good. Cue shimmering time travel lighting effect (you'll need antialiasing on to see that).Al

REX is spectacular. I can't notice any difference in frame rates...small if any.Highly recommended.

Any help with these questions is appreciated:1.) Does REX operate on a Network setup using Simconnect and/or WideFS for Vista64 ? 2.) I have ASA with Xgraphics. Can REX graphics be used with ASA engine, or is sole use of REX the way to go? Many thanks / Les Parson

Don't know about the network question but REX with ASA is a great combination.

Les,REX can be used across a network using Simconnect. Install your chosen theme, but for this part of the operation I elected to install REX on the FS PC as copying the texture files across the network takes a heck of a long time. I then use ASA for WX but I will sometimes use the REX WX Engine for a change. I find ASA generally gives better depiction and all the info at hand. All this may well change when REX 2.0 arrives.
