Aerosoft or UK2000 Heathrow?

Featured Replies

I want to have good scenery of Heathrow, and I basically have to choose between UK2000's heathrow extreme, and Aerosoft's Mega Airport Heathrow. What do you use, and what do you think is better? Both look pretty good. By the way, if one of the two versions is less beautiful but gives better framerates, I'm more than willing to take that one. lesser eye candy does not bother me, as long as I get good performance for it in return.

Simwings (Aerosoft) for sure.

I'll second that, Aerosoft's stays on my p.c!Chris

I have both, bought and tried both. And my opinion is: UK2000.Why? Of course it is always a matter of taste. But there are also some concrete points (in my case):- UK2000 looks better to me- UK2000 gives me higher FPS- Aerosoft (SimWings) gives me OOMs (especially with PMDG 744), whereas UK2000 doesn't.

I have both.....UK2000 is my choice.
Gotta agree with Ed, have them both and never looked back after installing UK2000, it was a clear winner on my box.-Paul

It is possible that the UK2000 one has been updated now, but the Aerosoft/SimWings one has Terminal 6 whereas at the time UK2000 did not.John

Terminal 6 is so far only in plans, if my memory serves me.

UK2000 did it for me. It compares very favorably with FSDT and FlyTampa. Also the dynamic vehicles are very smooth.

Yes, that's what I thought. I have the feeling that although Aerosoft's scenery is more detailed and visually maybe nicer and more detailed, in reality UK2000 gives better framerates at only a slight decrease in detail. Is that about right? Also, it's much cheaper. It's a difference of 7 euros.

I wouldn't say so, Benjamin.I find Garry's version visually better.Same for details. I have a feeling I find more details now after switching to UK2000.

Well, Rafal, that makes things even better! Thanks for the input all of you! I'll proceed and buy Heathrow when manchester comes out (that way I get 1 pound reduction on the total price :-P Hey, I'm Dutch, okay? let me be greedy). In the meantime I'll simply fly to other places ;-)

UK2000 for me. Stunning scenery with outstanding frame rates (this at an airport that used to give me the most FPS hit of any in the whole world)!
