I have (or rather had) both. My preference went to UK2000. Much better performance and it had the better "feel".

Cheers,

Mack

You can download and try the UK2000 heathrow X and see if you like it. Its usable but untill you buy it you will have too big blue boxes on the runway. I only using the UK2000 version but I get a solid 28 FPS with the PMDG MD 11 and all the sliders to max execpt Traffic (70%). Thats on a 2 year old budget PC with a Phenom 3 core proccesor and 3 gig of ram and active sky/radar contact and FScrew all open at the same time eheh.

You don't need to buy!! Go to the avsim lib and search for frf egll. That will also ask you to download heathrow buidling works. When you have done that download Heathrow 2008 update. That download contains a very accurate afcad file as at November 2008. It's not worth creating another update until 2010 as so much building work is going on. The same download also contains around 700 taxiway and rwy signs with a modification to show the correct roman numerals for ILS sterile holds. So you won't get lost!!!! IT'S ALL FREE!!!!!Vololiberista

Hi Vololiberista you cannot compare the frf egll with the payware egll from aerosoft simwings and uk2000 there's a huge amount of detail in there airports, and I believe its well worth the money, there are some people that will not purchase scenery at all and the frf egll scenery is a great choice if they want to go free.

and Gary Summons of UK2000 is committed to regular modifications as the RW Heathrow alters. On the other hand, Aerosoft have a tendency to make an airport and then leave it for a few years untouched, and then wonder why some purchasers ask why modifications haven't been made. So UK2000 all the way!

I go along with Tingoose. Although I only installed UK2000 Heathrow today it seems to be pretty good; also scores with regular Updates, unlike Aerosoft, seems like they are going to 'sit on their hands' for a year or two :( One other point with UK2000 - there seems to be a shortage of taxiway etc. signs? I don't know if I've missed something here, Afcad maybe?I'll stick with UK2000 for now.Ken

The only set up out there with enough taxiway signs is the Heathrow 2008 Update (with Approx 700 signs). The signs are aligned with the supplied afcad. You won't get lost. They also include links, reporting points, LDA and TDA markers.Vololiberista
