August 26, 200916 yr Guy's i have just completed a rebuild following some excellent guidance from FSGS.i am now looking to reintroduce AI but want to know which is the best program to purchase please?
August 26, 200916 yr Can it be run on another rig though simconnect? What are the benefits of doing so? Will it free up a lot of resources? As mentioned in another thread, I'm building a new FSX rig. I can use a lot of the hardware from my current rig but if I can free up a lot of resources by using the old comupter for AVA and UT2, I would keep the current pc intact. Of course, the new system will cost a lot more money. August 26, 200916 yr Guy's i have just completed a rebuild following some excellent guidance from FSGS.i am now looking to reintroduce AI but want to know which is the best program to purchase please? My two cents: My TrafficX because it includes military aircraft, historical aircraft, constantly updated/improved, excellent forum, and came out with an FSX addon before anyone else. I had the Flight One version for FS9 and that was great too but didn't include military aircraft. The AI Programs are all good especially if you're upgrading your system.Best regards,Jim Young
August 26, 200916 yr I like UT2 because you can start or stop traffic on the Fly if the FPS drop to much in a big city. So you can at least land at 20 or so FPS in big cities.
August 26, 200916 yr Definitely UT2 (Ultimate Traffic 2) lot of traffic and a lot of options too.Yoy can use it with skai traffic for more traffic but fps will drop down. Die Hard Diesel 9
August 26, 200916 yr Moderator Definitely UT2 (Ultimate Traffic 2) lot of traffic and a lot of options too.Yoy can use it with skai traffic for more traffic but fps will drop down.I agree. I definitely would recommend UT2, however stay away from the "bad" SKAI stuff.Instead I used WOAI to fill in any missing paints from UT2. Plus the fact that UT2 lets you start and stop, plus clear planes out of your approach on final makes it a great product. They are also planning on doing future updates to add some military and helicopter stuff according to what they said in their forum. August 27, 200916 yr I have always been a firm believer that AI should never need to be paid for when there's World-Of-AI out there of better quality and for free. However having just read about this thing that clears problem AI's on approach... August 27, 200916 yr UT2 all the way . Most of the planes look awesome. Really good frame rates. Lots of customization. Flight1 wrapper and a refund if you are not satisfied. Mike Keigley
August 28, 200916 yr I'm getting close to buying UT2. I have MyTrafficX and never loaded any traffic with it. I went back to WOAI and personally developed flight plans and MAIW for military flights. I think one attribute of UT2 I will enjoy is that it does not load its own AFCAD files. This preserves any custom airports you have modified. Keith Guillory
August 28, 200916 yr I have UT for FS9 and if I was asked what the best traffic program for FS9 was, I'd say UT.Since the last update of UT, I have moved to a lot of WoAI stuff. I have always replaced the aircraft for UT since day 1.Has anyone tried to run UT2 from a different client rig using simconnect? Does it work? Does it have a benefit? I have asked this question here, the simconnect forum and the UT2 forum and I haven't got an answer. I have read the UT2 manual and it doesn't have an answer. I'm just curious because it seems like sticking with freeware may be better if you can't unload some resources. WofAI is so easy to use and if you already have the old UT, you can import the traffic not covered by WofAI. Sure the old traffic is not up to date but it is pretty close - anything not covered by WofAI is going to be pretty obscure anyway MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

That element should be transportable if you are willing to put in the work to do so. The database effort costs something, but I can't say how much and I imagine the effect is not so noticable on multicore machines with good quantities of RAM. I remember that allocating UT2 to something other than cpu core 0 (which is critical to FSX) to be helpful. If you are using othe traffic packages, FSX has to scan it's own "BGL" database in a similar fashion, so you may be no worse off.Simon www.supertrafficboard.com
