September 10, 200916 yr Hello,Well I have fired up FSX for the first time in a long time and I think I am going to stick with it. My FS9 install has a problem than no one can seem to figure out and I'm not reinstalling because I plan to upgrade my rig in a couple months. SO to keep me busy for the next few months, I have decided to do some island hopping because my rig can't handle major airports with a lot of ai. I have FT's VHHX and TNCM package, Imagine Sim's MYNN and TJSJ, FlyMex South and some Tropical Sim scenery. Frankly, it was really surprising how much FSX scenery I already owned with free upgrades and 2 for 1 deals. I was looking at TahitiX but I am concerned that it will be unflyable - consensus seems to be that it takes a system similar to what will handle ManhattanX. Is it really that rough or can I dial down some of the settings and get away with 12-20 fps like I have with the Fly Tampa stuff? Any other suggestions for nice payware scenery along these lines that isn't available in FS9 would be great as well. Also, can anyone tell me how I can get rid of the birds and dolphins? September 10, 200916 yr Hi Jeff,if you want some island hopping, i recommends PIS - RAW GRIT: PNG BUSHPILOT & EXTREME BUSH TREKKER BUNDLE. It looks much better, it is much more interesting and FPS are much greater than in TahitiX. I think TahitiX is nothing special. I have used it 2 times since i bought it about a half year ago. I really do not understand why almost all Aerosoft 's products i bougth are so resource draining: TahitiX, African Airstrip Adventures, BushHawk XP, German Airfields 2. My specs are E8400, 4GB RAM, Velociraptor, GTX260 and i am not able to enjoy this products due to resources hog.Pavel

September 10, 200916 yr Author Thanks. I think I hold off on Tahiti for now. Maybe I'll get some more tropicalsim stuff. The only thing I don't like about them is their package deals put several airports in one scenery folder and the always seem to contain an airport that I already have from a different vendor. When thin happens I have to try to extract the unneeded airport which is kind of a pain. The PNG scenery looks nice but I'm not sure it is for me. I like doing flights from larger airports to smaller ones - TNCM-TFFJ, MMUN-MMCZ, TJSJ-TISX kind of flights.I really wish there was a replacement for the Lago Maldives scenery that I think was made for FS2002. I used it a lot in FS9. September 10, 200916 yr Michael, it is only my personal experience. Maybe someone is enjoying flying with 10-14 fps and crackling sound or with low autogen and objects (but then why to buy sceneries if i have to turn it almost off?).Pavel
September 10, 200916 yr I recommend staying away from aerosoft completely. Terrible support and subpar products as of late. They are a churn and burn shop these days which is sad.
September 10, 200916 yr Don't know about there scenery stuff as all I have of that is the AES program which I like alot. I know their airplanes are some of the nicest I own. THe Catalina and BushHawk are excellent on my system. No issues with framerates at all. I also have both FSX and FS9 Beavers, the Twin Otter, all the Seahawks and H1B..All fly just fine and look superb.. September 10, 200916 yr SO to keep me busy for the next few months, I have decided to do some island hopping because my rig can't handle major airports with a lot of ai.Try flying out of Lihue on Kauaii.. the default FSX scenery for that island is really well doneAlso, separately, Princess Juliana airport on St. Maarten :( Bert
September 10, 200916 yr If you're looking for great performance, you will not find it in Tahiti X or any other Aerosoft scenery. Horrible!Tahiti X could be much better if it was usable.Forgive me, but I've been spoiled by ORBX. If you want the best scenery you will ever see visit Orbx. See for yourself. Just beautiful. MSFS

I happen to like Tahiti X and the aforementioned aircraft...no problems at all...but that's just me. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
September 11, 200916 yr I recommend staying away from aerosoft completely. Terrible support and subpar products as of late. They are a churn and burn shop these days which is sad.I happen to love them and support them for the simple fact they are supporting FSX, especially FSX only products (I enjoy reading their forums after an FSX only products is announced, LOL). They use many different developers so you really can't blame therm totally for a products performance, afterall, their beaver, Cheyenne, are exceptional aircraft IMO.As for support, never had an issueI was simply pointing out that all the products mentioned that had performance issues came from the same developer and following posts on all those products many users had issues and I myself after buying another of his sceneries have performance issues, so I was just connecting the dots. September 11, 200916 yr Tahiti X runs fine on my machine and is a lot of fun. I think Aerosoft is a pretty creative developer/publisher.Randalle8400 @4.07Ghz4GB DDR2Geforce 9800 GTX+
September 11, 200916 yr I have tons of aerosoft products, and all, i mean ALL works great to me. The support (Shaun is the man) is one of the best. These kind of topic blaming an addon or a developer is pointless. There are to many variables that can possibly stop an addon to work well in someone's computer.TahitiX is one of then. It works flawlessly to me but for another person is ugly, fps eater, etc ... so where is the problem? I think it Flavio Cardoso - P3Dv4.5 HF3 Win 10 Pro 64Bits - i74960X 4.5ghz - ASUS Rampage IV Black Ed. - Corsair H150i Platinum - 32gb Ripjaws Z - ASUS RTX 2080 SUPER SC - MCP 737R 2015 Virtual Avionics
