October 13, 200916 yr http://flightsimulator.ning.com/group/flig...ews-aces-studioGreat :-)Their press release states "Cascade Game Foundry, LLC is hard at work on the design and demo for their first project."Let's wait to see what that project is before getting excited! Gerry Howard
October 13, 200916 yr Oh my god... Not just out of blue, it's like being smashed in the face with candy floss: yummy, but sticky and it won't let you go before taking a shower (all in a good sense, of course). This is incredible news, and I hope they are able to continue with "Microsoft" Flight Simulator, fiving us FS11 and fixing up FSX. Hopefully, they will make FSX, but fix the outstanding bugs, and add in that stuff that people have been wanting for some time. So, I wonder how their "new entry" will compete with the Aerosoft FS, which also looks promising. Unless they theres's an agreement with Microsoft there will be no further work on either. Given Microsoft's change of strategy earlier this year, I don't see it agreeing to that.Anyway, there is no suggestion what the first project will be.TO THE MODERATORS there is more than one thread already on this subject. Could the be combined into a single one? Gerry Howard

What this essentially means is they will be starting from scratch. Hmm... I am not holding my breath for a new "better" flight simulator anytime soon. Michael J.
November 19, 200916 yr Seems we will have to wait for another two years before having something in the hands, and it is obvious from their press release that they look for a bigger -more game-oriented (aka dogfights and bombardements) public. Any switchers to x-plane yet?

In which case they could just pick up where they left off, since they were the ones that developed it!!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

November 19, 200916 yr Really so they're going to buy a 1000 dollar license .. and sell it back to us at how much? that makes no sense. Honestly do you guys think that game engine development is that hard that you need to wait on Aces people? who cares if they're aces.. given their track record they'll make an engine that's not for it's time and miss fifty dead lines. Seriously any ace's employee worth their weight in salt is at another dev company by now.
November 19, 200916 yr You do realize ESP was just a commercial license of the FSX engine... nothing more nothing less.
