November 22, 200916 yr The 'bank angle' callout after the first bounce got my attention. Well, anyone you can walk away from is a good landing. I've done worse. Dan Downs KCRP
November 22, 200916 yr Think I would want a whiskey & coke if I was on the jumpseat!RobIf you need two hands on the control column to correct and land the aircraft, you know you did something wrong before that moment. The resulting runway contact can be expected if you elect to continue.Regards,Harry

From the rapid-fire altitude callouts, it would appear that some power may have been appropriate. Not quite sure why he needed both hands on the yoke though- may have been turbulence, but not enough info to tell. That's my Monday morning analysis :( Paul
November 23, 200916 yr the wind obviously wasn't very nicethere's so much banking by the autopilot during final approachSam
November 23, 200916 yr I don't think VHHH ever had a wind free day. The VHHH youtube videos are my favorites from the insane amount of crosswind landings. There are about 20 or so videos on youtube of VHHH landings and none are without MAJOR crosswinds.Great vid, I liked seeing the gear lights illuminate exactly as in PMDG's :) i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
November 23, 200916 yr Has anyone observed if the PMDG aircraft also gives you the bank angle warning at low altitude if theres a possibility of a wing/engine strike?

Which clearly is a a wish rather than a description. Awesome. As for the wind, did she say 7? That's pretty ridiculous if that's a problem. But, as Dan points out, I've done far worse myself and I'm still around. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers

To date she has kept her promise, but it really wasn't that bad of a landing looking back. Like was said earlier...plane in tact + no damage to plane or passengers + good landing! November 25, 200916 yr That legendary VHHH Kai Tak IGS 13 approach is my favourite sim adventure bar none, particuarly with the stunning realism provided by Fly Tampa's amazingly detailed scenery of Kai Tak and the Hong Kong Harbour. Whipping into a steep right bank over that park as the checkerboard looms into view on the hillside requires a textbook coordinated turn with subtly harmonised rudder and aileron inputs, but my first few hundred attempts quickly degernated into a flailing crab, before I finally got the hang of carving that turn just right for a smooth as silk touchdown....... Mmmmm extasy. Dang, I gotta go shoot that approach a few more times right now.Tony Selario Best regards from Tony, at the helm of the flying desk.
November 26, 200916 yr This I believe is an approach to 31 in Kai Tak... there is no 50 Andrew Entwistle
November 26, 200916 yr It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that has a bad landing every no and then. Dan Schultz REX Latitude BETA Team Member https://rexlatitude.com
