I FINALLY got a chance to try out the tutorial yesterday. I didn't complete the flight (I fell asleep....lol) but I do have a few questions on some items. On page 7, it says to turn on the battery and, if the ground power is not connected, have the ground crew connect it. However, the MCDU is remaining unpowered. I could turn the EMER PWR switch to "armed", but the caption below the picture on page 7 indicates that "emergency power does not get armed at this stage.....". What's the deal here?

Also on page 13....I cannot seem to change the 1st digit (hundred's) for the pax count. I can only change the middle digit. What am I doing wrong?

I just booted up the scenario, and yep, pressing the menu button does the trick. I had just seen a dead MCDU (well, I had assumed it was dead) and wondered what was going on.

On page 13, it says to turn on the APU. I usually try and keep the plane on both external power and external air until right before I'm ready to close the doors. Unless the airport doesnt have external power, would there be a reason for using the APU so early?

I did this tutorial without external air available. This is not present on every airport MD-11s fly to. And if you don't have external air but you do have a cabin at 13

Question about the FSDT scenery. (Yes, I know that technically this is a MD11 tutorial thread, but I just signed up for their msg board, and am awaiting "approval" to post msgs there. Besides, I figure that a lot of people here have purchased their product).I've downloaded the trial versions (for FSX) of KORD and KJFK. I then purchased them through the "add on manager" module on FSX. I received my receipt indicating I've bought ORD/JFK. But, when I try and register the serial numbers, the response is something about "Orlando Intl is installed but not yet activated". Is this an error, and should I continue? I want to make sure I'm just activating O'hare and Kennedy, as I never purchaed KMCO.

Just wanted to say thanks again for this. It has greatly helped and added many levels to my MD-11 experience.

While in the VC if you right click and select view and then overhead, you can select the digits without needing to go back into the 2d panel.ThanksJR

OK I must be missing something. I am on http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/down/docs.html and I see the original Tutorial for the MD-11 made back in Jan of last year (and was wonderful), but no link for the Advanced Tutorial. Asier,what you see there is an ILS approach for runway 04R, but you can choose any approach you deem appropriate.Regards,Markus

May I suggest using an installer in future tutorials? :( I have two pairs of files with the exact same name, and one of each needs to go to a different folder (Panelstate & FSX files)How am I supposed to know which one to choose from? :S And what does Half Life 2 has to do with PMDG MD11 tutorial? :(
