PMDG 737 NGX: The View Forward

KBFI to EIDW - without a stopover, 737-800, Ryanair delivery flight, no passengers, only six crew members (3 flight crew and 3 flight attendant including myself, lol). Also, when Sky Europe (RIP) flew home their brand new 737-700s, they managed to complete the Boeing Field to Bratislava route in the heart of Europe without a stopover, too, and it's an even longer leg.

That would be fun too. Start the first flight at Boeing Field for a delivery to London, then a repaint to a favorite European livery and a first run. Make a mission out of it. Of course, after I RTFM! :( By the way, will printed and bound manuals be available for purchase for the NGX like they are for the MD11? I love those manuals.

Probably would want to paint it first. That's the way they get delivered. In fact, the tail has to be painted before it is fitted so that it can be properly balanced because of the additional weight of the paint, which is why you see them being flight tested with the green vinyl temporary coating, but with the tail usually already painted up in the airline's livery.Al

Oh ya, I believe they paint it first then deliver it first. I saw a tv show saying a plane has like 300lbs of paint

Another interesting thing about the 737 before it gets painted, whilst we are on the subject of them:Boeing used to occasionally have to patch bullet holes in the fuselage of new 737s. The fuselage is built Wichita and transported by rail to the Renton plant for assembly, and locals used to take potshots at them for fun whilst they traveled those 1,400 miles by rail. However, the railcars which the fuselages travel on now have better security, so it is apparently less of an issue these days.Al

Interesting Al,I live in the Denver metro area (Boulder), where one of the main railroad lines to Seattle from Wichita goes through. We have seen the special railroad cars with the fuselage parts on them go through here- the first time some years ago I was hiking alongside the railroad right of way and wondered what the heck they were! I must add that I have never shot at any of them though! Thanks, Bruce.

Very interesting, but disturbing at a time. Wouldn't it be better to do something about the people shooting the trains rather than modifying the railcars?

Yeah, that's pretty scary :( I hope he's not checking this forums from above and decides to come over my house overnight to "discuss" the matter, haha
Dario,You'll be the first to know if it happens. :(

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

No problem... I'm ready to give him a warm welcomedsc008541.jpg :(

oh yeah, that video is kind of a lie :/if you look at the fuselage of the plane they follow its a -800 than when they go to paint it its a -700.the part where they are actually constructing it is from Boeing, SWA just replaced the part where they paint the -800 into Boeing with the -700 Florida one being painted.

Nice shots! However they are all rendered in 3DS Max in perfect conditions, I'm interested in Flight Simulator shots because that's wath we will see in the end.Are there already ingame screenshots??
