PMDG 737 NGX: The View Forward

Are there already ingame screenshots??
Well there was that early shot of the HUD. But when a big team works on making a complex 3D object for a simulation, it's not dissimilar to how the real thing is built, with the 'just in time' principle often being adopted for scheduled tasks, as it is in the way full size airliner components come together. Or at least that's the way it is so long as the project manager knows what he is doing, which in the case of PMDG, I think we can assume will be the case.So I'm guessing that there are not any absolutely complete models in existence yet (i.e with an intact completed working VC married to an exterior model). That guess being based on us only seeing 3D renders of many component parts, although to be fair, those renders could have been done some time ago, so it's not necessarily indicative of where they are up to. Either way, lots of gauges and panels are perfectly able to be tested out of situ for complex FS add-ons, so having the thing in bits doesn't necessarily mean the thing is a long way from becoming one whole thing, after all, a dummy panel mock up is perfectly adequate for testing systems whilst awaiting a pretty finished panel. But we do know that some of it is intact of course, since we've seen a shot of the HUD in action.Al

Yup, the new PMDG NG will get 'power up' engine thrust upgrades if you fly through the golden balloons on your flight path, and if you hit the pink teddies that float down, you jump one slot in the hold for every three teddies you collect. The CFM engine noises have been replaced by the music from Super Mario Kart, however, it has been remastered by TSS so that it sounds like it is coming from the cabin speakers. Apparently, that is exactly what happens on a real NG too according to wikipedia... Expect an announcement from PMDG any day on more thrilling realistic features such as these :( Al

Too much gibberish in this thread. I hope we get a status update on the NGX soon.
Bets are on for november/december 2010 release (if we are lucky)

Gibberish?...neeeh, just some social talk and killing time until the NGX will come out....:DBest RegardsRaymond

Gibberish? Not if you ever filled out that 'what do you want in a new FS?' questionnaire MS put out about a year ago LOLAl

My guess for release date is mid September. I believe they stated the VC is the last thing to be completed, and is normally done after all the systems and whatnot have been completed. We have seen sections of the overhead, pedestal and the main instrument panel, and I think the throttle unit once done will be it for the interior work. I'm guessing they go to beta by month end, which gives them all of August into early September for testing. Yep, that's my guess, and I'm sticking to it!
