January 30, 201016 yr we old fs9ers farts have to support the business more than before for a change the thing is much nicer than the teasers. Quite the other way round usuallyI have to say your damn right twice, Arnaud!sinc
January 30, 201016 yr I would have to rank him even above FlyTampa since his airport vehicle animation is so smooth. Nice job Gary!
January 30, 201016 yr How come these guys make such great sceneries but they can't make a cool web site? With all of their tallent...strange isn't it?Mark
January 30, 201016 yr No - I don't find that surprising at all - I would rather Gary spent his time and talent on scenery design, and not web site design. They are two totally different types of graphic and technical skills. Graeme Butler
January 30, 201016 yr Graeme, ideally the two should go by pair, me think. Mark is right, I believe that alot of people, just like me, stayed away from Gary's work because of the poor screenshots. It's not even about making a cool site, just decent screenies would make it. I registered to the UK2K forum and will drop a word of thanks anyway.
January 30, 201016 yr It's perfectly understandable that he doesn't spend a lot of time on screen shots as he offers free trials. The screen shots in his case are to show what's depicted and to give a general sense of the quality of the scenery. Think about it: He designs and creates beautiful, and frame rate friedly scenery for FSX AND FS9, then offers free trial software so you can test not only what it looks like, but how it works on your particular set up, but we can't even be bothered to download and try it despite the fact that there's really no other Manchester alternative out there -- payware or freeware -- so we complain about his screenshots not being beautiful enough? Sometimes I think if it were raining money, we flight simmers would be complaining that our buckets weren't big enough! :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. January 30, 201016 yr Moderator For those of you new to Gary's scenery Manchester is just one of 9 UK airports in the XTreme range which are all designed to the same high standard. Buying two or more in the same order brings a 1UKP discount. Every little helps. :(http://www.uk2000scenery.com/newsite/My_Ho...iles/Page1.html Ray (Cheshire, England). January 31, 201016 yr Well for the price and quality I couldn't resist buying this scenery :( A top quality product for FS9 gets my cash every time. Even if there's no market for FS9 products. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
January 31, 201016 yr The screen shots in his case are to show what's depicted and to give a general sense of the quality of the scenery.Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying, Chuck, the scenery is awesome but the screenshots gives the impression that it's a piece of crap, so there's something wrong there, which is a shame. Although you're right, there's the try before you buy, but I hardly install something which I'm not sure about, because I fear it screws my sim up (like loosingly overwriting default effect files, default textures etc...).Anyways....I'm now off to buy some more from Gary. Any suggestions as to what I should pick next? :(
January 31, 201016 yr Any suggestions as to what I should pick next? Birmingham Xtreme! Of course I assume you already have Heathrow and Gatwick.
January 31, 201016 yr Bonjour Rafal et merci :( No I dont have Heathrow as I use the Aerosoft's one and am quite happy with it, neither do I have Gatwick.So... heading to Birmingham and Gatwick then...me who, up to now, never flew to UK except LHR, and that was missing.
January 31, 201016 yr Birmingham Xtreme! Of course I assume you already have Heathrow and Gatwick.I was thinking of getting Gatwick (I have Heathrow, Birrmingham and Manchester), but then I thought: "why would I get Gatwick if I have Heathrow". So... Why would I get Gatwick if I have Heathrow? I mean, Gatwick looks awesome and I have fond memories of a veeeery old UK2000 scenery of Gatwick for FS98, but since it's so close to Heathrow; what's the point?
