April 10, 201016 yr Author I don't plan on buying it anyway. No, clearly not.Blind? Dumb?Neither, at least my friends assure me I'm not.Like I said, you seem to like a different type of sim airplane. April 10, 201016 yr Regarding the SSTSIM manual/tutorial, sorry guys I own the plane so was not aware that the manuals were not an open download. As for the DVD of the Concorde from ITVV, I have these as well and it is a fantastic resource covering in quite a bit of detail all of the systems.Mark.The manual IS freely available to anyone, even if they do not (yet) own the aircraft. At the main flightsimlabs.com web site, click on the "forum" tab. On the next page that appears, there should be a tab called "downloads", after which you can click on "documentation".Post edit: Oops - I now realize you were speaking of the original FS9 SSTSIM Concorde manual. Yes, not sure if it would be appropriate to post that, as I believe it was only available as part of the purchased aircraft pacakge. It's too bad, because the excellent tutorial for the FS9 version, would be about 90% applicable to the more advanced Concorde X aircraft - especially for those simmers who have no previous Concorde experience. Hopefully the new "X" tutorial will be available soon. Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. April 10, 201016 yr trisager,Ha. Not so fast. Just because you say I prefer 'a different type of sim plane' don't mean I can't fly the Concorde, and anything else out there for the sim. Including helicopters. You are not talking to a noob here. I do flight dynamics edits (have since FS98) and I know when things are not right for the model.I have the Concorde, by Guzman in FS9 and FSX, and (with my mods) it flys at Mach 2.10 and lands at 150 kts. But it wasn't that way. It was stupid wrong. Sorry, but facts are facts. I hope they don't use cfg or air file from this model as a template. The dynamics should be predictable and allow for CONSISTENT performance. On any rig.And since I already have a perfectly good Concorde, why would I want to buy another? For the panel? Because it has a VC? Nope. The panel I have has a perfectly good VC (in FS9 anyway-I use a differrent panel for FSX). They are trying to fill a 'niche' as they know no one has a good Concorde panel for FSX. Nice going. Now let's talk about the dyanamics (or lack of). They will probably say they are 'classified' and can't say anything until it is released? The Concorde doesn't have flaps or spoiler in real life. But, you can get by without either in the sim. Mine will do accurate ILS approach (perfectly!), so all the AP features work. AT, HDG, NAV. So why don't I upload a fix for the dynamics? Because the payware guys will scoop it up, make cosmetic changes, use it, and not give me any credit, that's why. And when asked they will say (it has already happened) they got the FDE's from the modeler. (Good one).My Conc is so easy, and pleasant to fly, and land, that it makes my sim worth 10 times over what any payware model would be worth. Hey, I am ok with making a buck, and ok with 'commerce', but not if with phoney claims just to dump 'junk' models on 'suckers'. Technically this is plain ole FRAUD.CBNapamule

April 10, 201016 yr JHepburn,It's the usual. You get a guy promoting a model that hasn't come out yet. Drum up some interest. But trouble is the Concorde has never had good dynamics. I am only pointing this out. SHOW ME is what I'm saying. Make a video. Prove it's worthy of me (or anyone else) paying $ for it. The only video I saw on YouTube is nothing but hype and doesn't even show it landing. I wonder why.For what it's worth I made a video showing the Concorde in FS9 and FSX. FSX version needs work, but is 'ok'. I can make a FS9 model fly the same in FSX. It's not hard to do. Takes a little work but it's doable. The video is all ligit Flt Sim (mostly FS9) action-no footage of real Concorde mixed in to make it 'look' good. Link to the YouTube video is in the Flight Videos Forum (WAY down below these forums).CBNapamule

Further, I have never flown the concorde so have no point of reference for how she feels compared to the real thing. I believe they have some people on the beta/technical team with real concorde experience. Perhaps posting in their forum is the more appropriate place. Jeff Hepburn
April 10, 201016 yr CB, I'm also confused as to what you are saying? Concorde-X has been out for a few weeks now and it is very well done as quite a few people in this thread have already stated. For me personally it definitely goes beyond looking good, but not being a Concorde pilot I'm afraid my opinion on the FDE would only be from a simmers perspective.I think you would get better answers to your questions or concerns by going to the developers site and speaking with them directly. http://www.flightsimlabs.com/ John

I have this ConcordeX and I believe they did a really nice job. I have no experience with the real thing but this aircraft flies really nice; nicer that the previous Concordes that where on the market for FS9.It has a bazillion buttons, toggles, switches, gauges, knobs, lights, sounds and popups that will captivate your flying interest, and you get to learn to use the Civa INS which is a required free add-on.And getting this puppy to 60,000 feet requires some thought (for me anyway). If you like to fly the heavies, then this one is a must. I highly recommend it.No I don't work for them or get anything for mentioning it.Happy flying!

April 11, 201016 yr Commercial Member Hi Napamule,The flight performance model for Concorde-X has been in development for 6 years, with much of that time spent along-side ex-Concorde pilots, technicians, engineers and Concorde flight performance & flight planning managers, to name a few. In addition, a whole range of performance data has been used to tune the model to operate within MSFS to within a narrow margin of the real world aircraft. Now, I don Andrew Wilson
