March 6, 201016 yr I have just finished re-installing FSX and add-ons, including the registered version of FSUIPC. As I'm setting this up (axis and button/key controls), it seems that there unlimited possibilities and combinations to extend yoke and/or keyboard commands to functions, even aircraft specific. This question may be better suited to Pete's forum - how are people using this add-on and are there any cool ideas that we could all learn from? One I have thought of, for jets at least where there is no "propeller" function, is to assign the "prop" lever on my yoke to the spoilers, then by assigning ranges of movement to Off, armed, in-flight and full. Also, once again assigning ranges of movement, use full deflection of yoke functions to disconnect the AP (similar to many real aircraft). Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
March 6, 201016 yr I use a registered version of FSUIPC (4.6? is it up to now, not sure? Anyway,, whatever the new one is). I have it for a few reasons, one, to throw some money Pete's way, since he's done more for simming than most people, also, because the full on version is useful for icing and cloud stuff. I need it for TSR Autobrake amongst other things, since you only get full features on TSR with a paid for registered copy of FSUIPC. Some other add-ons benefit from having a 'proper' version of FSUIPC too.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 6, 201016 yr Moderator There is one thing about FSUIPC that many folks don't realize...Commercial products that require FSUIPC to enable advanced features have two choices:1. pay Pete a license fee for use of the product, which in turn results in a slightly higher price for their product...-or-2. allow the end user to purchase their own licensed FSUIPC, which is then "unlocked" for everything that calls on it's features. After looking closely at the situation, I came to realize that I would -rather quickly- save money by buying my own license... :( Fr. March 6, 201016 yr I program all my controllers through FSUPC, and especially having thrust reversal axis mapped to their own leavers give me a sense of realism when in the 737. Would be nice though to have the option for thrust rev. as a button action. Would be kind of handy with the Saitek leavers, that have a detent, to just push the leavers all the way down for a predefined percentage of rev. thrust, would spare some leavers for other stuff when flying with four engines (depending on number of leavers of course). Will recommend only having one set of controllers plugged in at a time, if you have more than one set of controllers mapping some of the same axes. I have experienced issues when having both stick and yoke plugged simultaneously.Have never fiddled with wheather control, may get around it one day. Anyone using it for weather, and what are the up-sides and down-sides (if there are any of the latter :( )?I think we owe a lot to Pete for releaving us of assignment issues etc., and his undying support in his forums is out of the ordinary. March 7, 201016 yr I have two reasons that I have not registered FSUIPC. (1) The only purchase option of which I'm aware is SimMarket, which is not US-friendly currency-wise. (2) The unregistered FSUIPC conflicts with Active Sky weather, and I don't know if the registered version is any better. Art

March 7, 201016 yr I use it to output a GPS signal to my Treo Pro via BT. This way I have a moving VFR map. Here is my setupPCFSXFSUIPC set to send GPS signal to Com 4Treo ProMemory Map Navigator w/ Digital Raster VFR chartsHooked to Com4 on the PC via bluetooth.I love this setup, as it allows me to record my flights, and I can have all ADF and VOR frequencies handy. Plus, I always know where I am at.
March 7, 201016 yr Some freeware addon's, like ArrestorCables v2.6 require it and I went ahead and registerd so I could have a complete and functional copy for all future applications.

Active Sky 6.5 requires FSUIPC I believe. And if it works for Pete Dawson and others, I would be happy to hear how that was accomplished. Art

And if it works for Pete Dawson and others, I would be happy to hear how that was accomplished.I have simply installed ASA and FSUIPC, and I haven't noticed any issues with either unregistered or registered FSUIPC.
