EZDOK -- rocks!

Thanks for that Al. Out of interest, I already have a Buttkicker, and I have been surprised how well that works. From what I've seen of EZCA I too believe they will make a great combination.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I tried it with a B747, A300 and YS-11 as well, and it makes them more fun too. So as with most add-ons that do something globally to everything in your virtual hangar, I think it is worth the price of admission.Al

Al, in your heavies are you using the RND or DHM effects for your VC pilot view?I started using RND but since they are random and not based off the currect weather conditions I switched to DHM. The only problem with DHM is that I am having a hard time trying to either get enough movement or I get way too much. I wish the manual was a little more indepth about all the settings. There are so many knobs to adjust that you could spend days fiddling with this thing, lol. I just want to get something realistic. When I was using RND and had weather with no wind I was still bouncing around too much.

Thanks for reminding me I will add it in the moring as well as Approaching InnsbruckX that I got a few days ago.Not sure why you needed the wise crack about my sig, but having everything listed has saved me time in the past when I post a question and the first response is to list my system or what addons I am using. Now its already there and I dont have to type it all out. It's meant as nothing else. BTW, I am not the only member on Avsim that list their specs and such in their sig, and frankly, I am not sure what it matters to you.
Hi,The post was made in a very tongue in cheek manner. I'd hoped my choice of 'over the top' grammar would have conveyed the sense of humour that was intended. It certainly wasn't meant as a wise crack at your expense, just a gentle jibe at signatures. Please accept my apologies.

No problem Dean, that's why I jabbed you back when I thanked you for reminding my to add it. You can see though, over the internet how those comments are differnet than saying it in person. No harm done, I just hope you didn't see what the other fellow called you after the comment you made to me before the mod deleted it.Anyway, its in the past. Thanks for the apology :(

Isn't RND only used if the ground profil is in use? Since it's possible to export and import settings, it would be really great if anyone who has found good settings would share them.Is there a way to restore the default EZDOK settings? I wasn't aware that all changes are saved automatically to the data base :( I guess i have to reinstall the tool..

You know, this tool is pretty confusing to use. I started out with RND and DHM both enabled because I wanted the more customizable ground effects but I want the a/c to react in the air to the real wind and turbulence. However, I tested this combo with zero wind and found that I was still getting too much movement in the air. Then I disabled RND and used DHM and got nothing in the air or on the ground. That is until I cranked up the settings in DHM a little. The way it is now I have good movement in the air when tested with wind and turbulence, however the landing and takeoff is either to bouncy or not bouncy enough.I have spend about 5 hours today testing at KEDW on the long runways trying to get it sorted. The problem is there are so many variables and adjustments it hard to know where to start. What we really need is a good tutorial or some presets for smaller g/a aircraft, one for airliners, and one for militray jets. Hopefully after this has been out for a while and more users get it, we will start to see some people posting their settings.

I got EZDok this evening, and I'm very impressed. This is going to be one of those add-ons that once you have it, you don't want to be without it again. The view panning is smoother and easier to execute than my TrackIR, and I'm now even considering selling my TrackIR 4 Pro. Hats off to the devs for a stunning sixteen different views PRE-set for my A2A Piper Cub. They even had the carb heat and magneto controls mapped. I also loved the panel close up. The exterior cinematic views are just awesome. My question for those of you with Ezdok, is how do you manage the switching between all the cameras? I know there is a joystick button assignment, but there are so many views that I wonder how to effectively switch between them.

Currently the only way to switch between cameras is to either open the studio and click on the camera, which I dont like since I have to switch to windowed mode, or you can assign a keyboard or joystick button for each camera, which I also dont like either because its too hard to remember if you have a lot of cameras set up.I asked the fellow who makes this if he can add in another update a way we can just assign 1 key that we can press to cycle thru all the views. Kind of like using the current default S or Shift S to cycle thru the FSX views. He said that he could add that at some point. In the mean time I have only added I VC camera in my a/c until he does that.

RE: camera switchingSince EZDok took over my keypad numbers 1-3, I just made 4-7 and the + key the camera views 4-6 are external wing/landing gear7-9 are internal panel right seat etcand + is chase.that way you can jump between them.I cant wait for a function where you can do it on the joystick.

Good idea. Another thing that surprised me about the tool is that you can't assign more than one extra "shift state" key to a key -- in other words, I can't assign Ctrl+Shift+1 to a camera, it would only see Shift+1. What I wanted to do was make it so I could bypass anything FSX itself is using.I have the Logitech G15 keyboard, which has 3 shift modes, giving 54 different hotkeys. It occurred to me that I could create a key assignment for a camera, such as Ctrl+Alt+Shift+1, then map that to a G15 "G key" and do it with a single button press. Unfortunately the EZCA tool will not let me assign more than one shift-state key to a camera view hotkey. This will make it more difficult in finding keys that the sim isn't already using, as there are so many of those.edit well I figured out a nice solution to map cameras to my X52 main stick. The bottom six big 'up/down switches' on the X52, and then the 4 directions on the upper hat gives me 10 cameras, and I put another 2 on some buttons on the throttle controller for a total of 12 cameras. More than enough for me I think.I just flew the Cub around with these, and it was wonderful. Using a camera mounted to the upper part of the nose cone (near the windshield) was fantastic for approaches. Very cinematic, and gives an increased feel of speed and a more exciting perspective. I'll try and do a FRAPS movie tomorrow.

Hi all !=== on high settings it can make clicking small switches in the VC a bit tricky, ===No good idea. You can make any camera with "clone" option and set this camera at any GAU or any panel in VC. Then you should disable RND and DHM effects in this cloned camera. When you need clicking small switches in the VC you should call this camera. All vib.effects set to zero smoothly at 1 sec . After 1 sec you can click any small buttons in GAU without vibration. When you call previous camera where effects is ON , all effects restore all parameters smoothly asfter 1 sec. Second method - you can clone any camera at current position and disable all effects in this camera. When you need temporary disable effects , you should call this cloned camera. Try it !

Hi Marniftarr! Is there any chance a more simple (and cheaper :( ) version will be released that only gives the movement options...? I know a lot of people only want or need that! And did you see this topic:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=279457...where quite some people say they will buy EZCA as soon as it will work completely with TrackIR? I heard you are working on that, right?EDIT:P.S. The link to the manual on this page http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ezdockcam doesn't work... Could I download the manual from another location?BTW I've been looking at some movies... and I can imagine using EZCA instead of the TrackIR...I usually look at specific directions and I could save those as views: it looks cool because the views don't change in a split second but there is a transition. It does look good. However, the combination of TrackIR and EZCA would be the best I think.
