New sim?

I personally wouldn't bank anything yet. But then again, this does look good for MS FS if this is true. But part of me thinks it's more likely they are doing an Xbox 360 version involving Project Natal than anything else if they are doing anything. Which in a way, would be good, but in a way, would be bad. Good in that you could literally reach up and flip a switch, bad in that you would not have the same kind of mod community. My gut tells me however that if this is MSFS, and it's really FS 11, odds are they did something like axe ACES because of the issues with FSX, and rebuilt the team from scratch. I would be nowhere near surprised if they are redoing it from the ground up for FS XI if it is true.

Actually Silicon Valley is in the Southern portion of the San Francisco Bay area, but we get the idea :(

Thanks

On the bright side, I managed to unify the United Kingdom by 1415 in that game (from a game start late 1399). :(

Has anyone seen the NC3D videos on youtube? They do 3d prototype videos for proposed transportation projects like the California High Speed rail project. The software used is nothing short of unbelievable. If that could be mad to be interactice, it would be the real "holy grail" of both Flightsim and Trainsim (As well as any other simulation!)!http://www.youtube.com/user/NC3D

The software used is most likely Maya or 3d Studio Max. It screams pre-rendered CGI.

'Recent college graduates with strong written and verbal communication skills' Isn't that a contradiction in terms? LOLThis may indeed be the follow up to the survey that was put out regarding what people prefer in a 'flying game' as they put it. Based on that survey, and some of the questions that were on it, I'd be depressingly inclined to suspect it's going to some Super Mario Flight Sim 360-type drivel that will be in the bargain bins three weeks after launch, although obviously, I'd like to think I'm wrong on that score. I don't want to fly my PMDG 737NG through power up balloons to win extra fuel, and I doubt anyone else will either.Al

I also assume this is going to be nothing like the MSFS franchise, but on the other hand... why are they preferring people with flying experience if it's just a gimmicky game? Food for though.

Here it is: http://wherethejobsare.com/2010/04/07/pilo...s19-redmond-wa/Just wondering what all the story is about...
The "job openings" are for contract workers for Compucom Excell Data*, who've presumably been awarded a contract from an un-named company to test a flightsimulator work-in-progress.There's just not enough information available to support any realistic suppositions!* http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/sof/1681533569.html

That's what I was thinking. Also they said flight simulator. I seriously doubt they will do anything for the Xbox 360, especially Project Natal. If it was using project natal all the real world pilots would ditch the task like there was no tomorrow. No pilot or flight sim fan wants to use their body as an aircraft. If you have an Xbox 360, you can better understand the limits of such a system. It uses a DVD drive which only holds around 9 Gigabytes of data. It has a controller with far less buttons than a keyboard. There is no USB joystick or yoke made for it, and the list goes on and on. The only flying game that will make success on the 360 is Ace Combat (which is a fighter pilot game not a flight simulator), but even that doesn't have many purchases. Anything is possible though, so you or I maybe wrong :(.

You miss the point of what I'm saying involving Natal. I'm talking about having the ability to act as if you are actually IN the cockpit, reaching out and flipping switches, using your hands to control virtual flight controls, pure virtual reality. As far as the disc goes, well there's the ability to install on HDD now on Xbox and PS3, so that won't be much of an issue. Also, jagabom, I grabbed that from Google.

This ad does put a lot of emphasis on aviation experience :(

Have a Look under "Clients" http://www.excell.com/partners/clients.aspYes, if this were a Casino, I would gladly put about 5 grand onto Microsoft without a second thought :(.So we know it's flight:That gives a few options.1. Strictly Business (Professional training software)2. Home User simulation (FSX)3. A "Fun" GameOr any combination there-of.I wouldn't be willing to bet money on one or the other to be honest. Not enough information to reasonably guess.
