The shot that was posted in your forums is exactly what I was after. It actually looks excellent, I've been allotted one FS add-on for fathers day, and I think this is the one to have :( Thanks again for the hard work guys, I was never trying to dog your product, was just an opinion. But it looks as if I can quit worrying as this new model is looking wonderful inside and out! Now if someone could just post a screenie with the mindstar 1000 dropped into the VC :(

Thanks for having a look. The guys with Mindstar G1000 integration must be flying instead of posting shots. :(

put here so my post would be deleted.I had found my answer so I changed my post to be deleted.

I like the look of this plane and it looks like it has a really nice wide open viewing angle from inside the cockpit. I'm also interested in learning how to use the G1000.How are people getting on with this and is the view from the cockpit really good? It looks so open compared to other planes.Mark

Mark, there is a mini reiview by a real world DA42 Pilot here if you wish to take a look. Don't know why there are few postings as we know there are a lot of our FSX DA42s out there... :( Post #14 http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...401&hl=da42

Thanks Ron! After doing some more research of my own I went ahead and bought it last night!I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but my initial reaction is that I'm really impressed with it! :( It installed with no problems and it looks superb! The view from the VC is amazing! I can put the 2D panel on my 2nd monitor and then click on the glass cockpit instruments to bring them up on my main screen when I need them and they are so crystal clear and sharp that it is going to be a joy learning how to program and use the G1000.I had a quick fly around with it after I installed it and it flys very nicely. Easy to control and very responsive and being able to fly around and see an unobstructed view of the scenery all around you is so excellent! This is also my first plane that has a joystick in the VC, so now I don't feel like I'm missing out on not having a yoke!Once I've spent more with it, I'll post more details, but right now I just can't wait to get back home tonight and start learning how to fly it properly. Something tells me I'm going to be flying this plane for quite some time! :( Mark

Doesn't the Mindstar G1000 use the data from FSX? Which I think is from sometime in 2005.

Eaglesoft DA42 Twin Star delivers Eaglesofts own G1000 built specifically to DA42 Specs which uses FSX DB.It also delivers Mindstar Aviation Bendix/King KAP140 Autopilot which is authentic to the real Twin Star we modeled.Mindstar Aviation offers a separate purchase, direct dropin G1000, to specific Eaglesoft Aircraft. The first of those is the DA42 Twin Star.I need to check myself but believe Mindstar will be offering a Navigraph DB at some point. Best to check there for up to date information. :(

Our thanks for the purchase and the kind words Mark. Looking forward to hearing more after you've had more time in her. B)

"Mindstar will be offering a Navigraph DB" the would be great!!

Looks excellent from the outside: it's hard to tell the difference between the real thing and the Eaglesoft model! The VC texturing is delightful and just comfortable to look at. Too bad the gauges kinda looked like the default Cessna and G1000 gauges that came over with the C172 by Microsoft. But overall, well over the Iris model, good work.

Got it. It's nice. I lost a few fps though. It is really sensitive to control compared to the other default and add-ons that I have.Gauges do seem a bit flat. The Realair Duke and the Aerosoft PA31T Cheyenne have more of a 3d affect with their gauges.Looking out of the VC is really nice without any aircraft windshield obstructions. The view must be awesome in real life.

Yup, analog gauges look similar in about any aircraft but our G1000 is built to DA42 spec. There are significant differences in a "General" G1000 and the specific versions of G1000s even if they seem similar at first glance. Thanks for the kind words and glad to hear you are enjoying her. :(

Well I've had a few flights in her in the last 24 hours and she flies very well! On my last flight between a couple of small islands in Tahiti, I didn't descend early enough and then descended very quickly at the last minute and swerved all over the place, but she controlled well enough and easy enough for me to safely recover my swerves and land. I'm a newb with VOR and NDB approaches and always mess up the final approach, but I think with this plane I will definitely improve quicker now because if I know I can recover a bad approach and land then I'll feel more motivated to keep trying them until I get better at them. The KAP 140 AP and the G1000 work very well together. I did one short flight on an ILS approach and it was so smooth and flawless...really nice! :(Excellent plane! It's like flying the Ultralite, but with a faster cruising speed and the most modern VFR/IFR technology in it!Mark
