July 30, 201015 yr So as an owner you are saying the VC in our DA42 is poor? We're surprised that you haven't returned it on that basis or are you saying you already have? :( The shots by users both in our forum and up thread here seem to be close up and fine to us and others. :(Yes.I haven't returned it yet.I still have time.
July 30, 201015 yr You hit the nail right on the head. The screenshots on the ESs site look far away .I had to buy the thing to take a closer look. The da42 is gorgeous really... unfortunately the vc is what it is...:( And I do agree with you.ES is prob the front runner in very other aspect besides VC modeling).I often wonder why they don't do a proper vc.It is really strange to look at a nice plane with a poor vc.The VC is just a bit bland. It could use a little more definition to it. But maybe the real aircraft is that way.I noticed that the night lighting on the altitude gauge gets real dark near the center and is very hard to read, and sometimes the dome light doesn't turn off.But overall the aircraft is worth getting. I forgot to use the discount coupon. lol
July 30, 201015 yr Yes.I haven't returned it yet.I still have time.Good, don't want you to waste your money. :(
July 30, 201015 yr Moderator The VC is just a bit bland. It could use a little more definition to it. But maybe the real aircraft is that way.Have you ever looked at photos of the real DA42? The cockpit is very smoothly shaped, and by some definitions could be considered "bland..." :(A deliberate decision was to not model 3d knobs on the G1000 PFD and MFD units, because it would have prevented anyone from installing the Mindstar G1000 units......at times like this, I realize that there's really no way to satisfy everyone... :( Fr. July 30, 201015 yr Has anyone experience of the Twin Star sim by IRIS. Is the VC better? Does it have more G1000 functionality? Is it better \ worse overall etc?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUWCrKVJAEk...feature=related thanks,
July 30, 201015 yr The thread is about the Eaglesoft DA42. I purchased the Iris version to support their effort and for evaluation/comparison purposes. Each package has it's own set of plus/minus features. Don't know if Iris has a refund policy but Eaglesoft does. :(
July 30, 201015 yr Would it be possible to modify the vc ( see arrows) so that it looks like the vc in the iris package ? Like in the vid here -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUWCrKVJAEk Fast forward and watch mins 6.26-6.36
July 30, 201015 yr Nope. They built theirs, we built ours. Suggest you purchase the Iris Version if you want Iris features. :(
July 30, 201015 yr I decided not to purchase the Eaglesoft Twin Star. I am put off by the smug responses to constructive criticism more than anything. This is an open forum and it is only reasonable that users would compare one developers presentation of an aircraft sim to another. If it were your own forum you could censor any negativity as you please, however, this is not your own forum. Thanks,

The thread is about Eaglesoft DA42 Twin Star, not Iris DA42 Twin Star.If you or others wish to take it of topic or turn it into a comparison thread that is your perogative. We're far from smug, but we are realistic. We've seen this movie before.A glance at any products thread including Iris and others will reveal an interesting pattern..1. Users question about a product, many report their satisfaction. 2. After a while others join in with their dissatisfaction. 3. The thread usually turns to a "product comparison" thread which turns into a "food fight" with accusations thrown willy nilly, then the thing gets locked. We suspect that pattern will repeat itself here as soon as those who wish to express their dissatisfaction over one or more issues have "vented."Purchase or bypass is always the choice of the consumer and we see no reason for that dynamic to change. :(

Sure there are always going to be the odd comments, but I guess there are two kinds of Flight Sim developer; those that can take constructive criticism and those that can't. You even admitted purchasing a rival product yourself to compare amongst other things; you can't have it both ways.Thankfully, and something we seem to be in agreement over, the buyer holds all the cards here and can take his money elsewhere for whatever reason he so chooses. I stated my reason for not purchasing your software above, still stand by it, and see no reason to repeat it, or even respond to this thread any further :( thanks,
July 30, 201015 yr What part of "to each his own" is difficult to understand? :( We'll be ok, hope you will be as well. :(
July 30, 201015 yr What part of "to each his own" is difficult to understand? :( We'll be ok, hope you will be as well. :(I have noticed that some moderators at the ES Forum now reproach people that criticize their products, and it's starting to happen here. And this thread is going downhill fast, starting to turn into nothing more that a stupid argument, of which I am now guilty of too.How about a 'ten day timeout' for all of us?!

Honest support issues are answered. We're way too busy with support and development to accomodate those who only wish to criticize and argue.Threads like this one and at our forum always run downhill for reasons already stated. :(
