September 6, 201015 yr Everyone who uses AS6 knows that winds are pretty extreme and not very realistic. Until now, I've always read to use FSUIPC to smooth out the winds some. For reasons I won't go into here, I don't want to give Pete any money just to have this function. Is there anything else out there that will smooth winds generated by AS6?
September 6, 201015 yr Everyone who uses AS6 knows that winds are pretty extreme and not very realistic.i have no issues with AS6.5....I don't want to give Pete any money just to have this function.the amount of work that peter has done to assist any FS user understand the more than justifies 'paying' for FSUIPC. if it wasn't for peter 80% of all addons for FS would not exist.-- D. September 6, 201015 yr Author Although I appreciate your opinion, please don't make this a detraction from the original question by arguing FSUIPC.
September 7, 201015 yr For reasons I won't go into here, I don't want to give Pete any money just to have this function. You could have excluded this from your post if your not going to go into reasons. When writing something like that you have to expect someone to comment on it.P.S Hooooorrrraaayyyyyy for Fsuipc Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
September 7, 201015 yr AS65 uses the weather smoothing options in FUIPC. AES in an FS9 install relies on it. Have you set the weather options in FSUIPC to default and then setting and saving the visibility and wind option settings them in AS65? It works well for me.
September 7, 201015 yr My understanding is that wind shifts are a "feature" of FS (incl FSX). If you don't have access to the wind smoothing feature of FSUPIC, you most likely will have to live with what MS provides.Jim Harnes

September 7, 201015 yr I don't know what you have against Pete, but I, for one, have been thinking of buying a registration code just to support him for what he has done to the community. Even though, I don't need one. Naif Almazroa My Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Youmou0205

Even though, I don't need one.I dont regret ever purchasing a registered copy, couldnt have built my home cockpit without it, and that is just one thing of many it has done for me. September 8, 201015 yr Speaking of which I typoed meaning ASE instead of AES, of course :) What we have here ...is.........failure to communicate.Yes, it does. I'm not sure about for FS9 whether ASE enables those features with the freeware version of FSUIPC3.if memory serves AS6.5 works just fine with the freeware version of FSUIPC.--
September 8, 201015 yr Sort of ironic to tell someone who doesn't want to support a developer or their product to go use their free version... How do you spell H Y P O C R I T E? :( -PaulPS Huge supporter of Pete and FSUIPC, never regretted for 1 split second supporting the developer who makes most FS stuff "just work" Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 8, 201015 yr FSUIPC was the first thing I ever purchased to add to my setup, and as everyone says, a brilliant piece of work and well worth the price. Even if were free it would rightfully deserve a generous donation. Bravo Pete!Regards,Mel
September 8, 201015 yr I don't know if this post refers to my comment about ASE and the "free" version of FSUIPC3 but let me clarify something here:AS65, a commercial product by HiFi Sim, has paid some kind of fee structure to Pete Dowson so it registers the features it needs. In this case the user need not purchase an FSUIPC registration unless he/she wants to use its full feature set (which I do and recommend BTW).My comment about ASE referred to my query as to whether it registered itself and used FSUIPC3 for FS9 just like AS65 for those that did not wish to purchase a full registration.I was one of the "charter" full registration purchasers when I transitioned from FSUIPC2 for FS8 to FSUIPC3 for FS9 with no complaints.Pete Dowson is generous in that bona-fide freeware authors upon application may obtain an FSUIPC3 or 4 registration license for the features they require.
