September 14, 201015 yr Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new bird. Obviously there's Carenado, but anyone have additional reccomendations for general aviation craft? I'm looking for slow, single engine planes only currently, although I'll be flying multiengine soon anyways so don't mind being pointed in that direction as well. Instruments wise - it doesn't need a GPS or anything fancy. Retractable landing gear is a requirement however, I need to get used to having gear that retracts. Flown the Mooney Bravo but don't like it that much. Right now I'm looking at Carenado's C182 Skylane II RG, so obviously freeware or payware, doesn't matter. Thanks for your suggestions Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports

September 14, 201015 yr The Eaglesoft Twin Comanche is very nice. It's not pressurized and is not as fast as the Realair Duke, so is a nice step up from a single. It has an excellent flight model and seems easy on framerates.Dale Dale
September 14, 201015 yr Take a look at the A2A Cub or the Sibwings Cessna Bird Dog.Steve Steve Corzine
September 14, 201015 yr Anthony Lynch's Tecnam Sierra. Single engine, LSA, so it's something you could easily fly for real. Quality knocks the socks off Carenado. Has a free demo version so you can try it first (some functions are limited)http://antsairplanes.com/sierralsa.html

September 15, 201015 yr Milviz Cessna 31R highly recommended, like the realair duke also ive been waiting for their royal turbine version W7 UltimateX64, Intel I2600k @ 4.1ghz, CoolerMaster v6, 8GB Ram , EVGA GTX 560ti
September 15, 201015 yr Realair duke all the way, best plane for FSX IMHOif framerates are an issue consider the Carenado Seneca.
September 15, 201015 yr You can't go wrong with the Skylane II RG by Carenado. In addition to the excellent suggestions above, I would also recommend Flight1's Pilatus PC-12.
September 15, 201015 yr Author Thx for the suggestions so far guys. Will check out the Duke when I'm ready to deal with multi engine. And sorry, but I really need retractable gear. Such a small thing but it's amazing how easy it is to forget about it when you've flown fixed gear for so long. Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
