In about three weeks from now the link posted will probably show a new teaser - so let's say dighost posted too early rather than a little late.

Yes, a little disappointing :(

Honestly its really hard to tell from these little snippets what the games actually going to be like. If some people were expecting photo real scenery, rex2 clouds etc then i think they may be a little unrealistic in there expectations.

i'm sure the terrain will be "enhanced" resolution wise, but it still will be no where near as well defined as an Orbx region.

I just found out about this yesterday. I guess I have been hiding under a rock as the FTX site puts it.The video is a lot like FSX. The water looks good and the sun has rays shining through the clouds in one video that FSX doesnt have. maybe its an 'FSX with problems solved' (like cloud shadows)

The trailer and webisode 1 are not in game. Webisode 2, however, is in game.

It's going to be a computer game with aeroplanes simulated in it, if anyone is expecting it to look vastly different from MSFS, they'll be disappointed, after all, how different could it be given the identical subject material and platform? They may throw in some video card sun occlusion effects, or motion blur or whatever the latest flavour of the month video effect is for a computer game, but it is still a mass-market flight sim for a PC, so it will look like we expected 'FSXI' to look (which, marketing spin aside, it is), but without the backwards compatibility to the preceding versions. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it'll probably be pretty cool, just don't get your hopes up that it is going to be anything wildly beyond that.Al

That's the issue Chock, we are still unsure if it will be an arcade game or not, first. Then the graphic of Flight is slightly worse then FS9 of 2004 so that's another problem. These two issues are enough to debate on, for the next year at least, above all considering that the release of Flight seems to be scheduled for spring 2012.

Well, traditionally, arcade flight games have tended to be 'bargain bin fodder' within a matter of weeks, whereas detailed flight sims, whilst not the 'big box office openers' in terms of sales that FPS games tend to be, have nonetheless got a fairly consistent history of being 'slow burners' that can make a fair income given some time to realise sales, particularly where expansions are concerned. So that favours the notion of a more detailed sim as opposed to an arcade-type game. I should think it is fair to say that a gamer who wants an arcade experience is not going to give a toss about lining a Boeing Stearman up on a runway for take off; they probably don't give a toss about a Boeing Stearman in the first place is my guess, it'll just be a 'boring old plane with no guns' to them. Thus the problem with sims at large has always been the same; you can make money producing a sim, but the fact is you can make more money producing an FPS game or some such, so the best programmers tend to go where the cash is. Since that is true, I think we're fortunate that MS are even considering it, and I can only surmise that they may be harking back to the notion that MSFS was always kind of a 'flagship' product which was something they could have running in 'booth mode' at exhibitions. MS aren't the most popular company in the world, but FS was always well-liked, and added to their kudos. Even the new MS CEO, who appears to be as mad as a box of frogs from what I can tell, can probably see that.Al
