November 25, 201015 yr Dave, I cannot get version 1.07.1 to work. It starts up OK and connects to the weather servers and then FSX, but when I click "Push to start loading weather" button, it crashes after a couple of seconds with a send/don't send error that won't go away. :(edit: After some testing, it is the "use winds aloft data" check box that is causing the problem. When I don't have it checked everything works fine.

This fixes an international language number formatting issue.http://www.fsopen.co.uk/software/openclouds/OpenClouds.msiI'm not convinced this will fix your issue though. If it still doesn't work can you let me know:Your windows versionAre you using User Account Control? If yes if you run as adminstrator is it ok?What airport you are at?You may be able to copy the error onto your clipboard for me to see in full. I'll PM my email address to you.I'll pick up first thing tomorrow if you can get the details over to me.Regards.Dave Click here for GameSpy replacement
November 26, 201015 yr Dave:I think I figure it out. Open Clouds was running with another program and they fought for control to the bitter end of my graphic card (which became out of sync, lost track). Nothing happened to it of course. I had been flying with Open Clouds (without the other program of course) and I am happy to report that no problems even up to x16 were ever encountered again. Although, if the weather is rough (big differences between weather zones) when at x16 the A/P might go loco. Nothing new really with any weather generator. FSX is missing the smooth transition. I am very impressed with Open Clouds and the uplifting new look of the environment in FSX. It really need it too. Thanks Dave and to all the Open Clouds members for a wonderful program.Best regards,MAB
November 26, 201015 yr I just did a short flight KBOS - KJFK with the winds turned OFF and had no problems. After reading the previous post I thought I would see if I had issue WITH the winds on. I got a pop up window with the error saying there was a user defined breakpoint and the only way to get out of it was in the task manager. Not a biggie for me as I was one of the users that wanted a way to dissable them. XP-64 for the OSJim Jim Wenham

When you press "Push to start Loading weather: you get this: And after a few seconds this:Then you need task Manager to kill it.But guess what? When I tried first FSX was in a Flight Plan from Newark-Manchester but then for some reason I changed it to Ft. Lauderdale-Medellin and Open Clouds worked. Up on this thread I read someone had a problem with Yellowstone metar maybe there is something wrong with Newark too. It is also true that without "Use Winds Aloft Data" there seems not to be a problem.I'll keep ringing Newark. Maybe someone felt asleep there in the Metar Office.Cheers,MAB
November 27, 201015 yr MAB, redownload the latest file off of Dave's FSOpen website. The newest version is 1.07.4 fixed the problem!

November 27, 201015 yr Thanks so much for this great program! I like the fact that it is simple to use, but so effective!Bill
November 28, 201015 yr First off, I LOVE the depiction generated by Open Clouds! Thank you for this gift to the community. One problem. When I fly away from an airport the weather gradually disappears to few clouds and good visibility. For example, taking off from Boise with 5NM vis and overcast at 4700. Looks great. When I climb to 8000 I have a beautiful undercast for about 5 minutes. Then it gradually clears up to just a few clouds and great viz. When I get a METAR from Open Clouds it shows overcast at 700 and viz at 2M. Definitely not what is depicted - clear and blue. I stop and restart Open Clouds but the weather never comes back. This is with version 1.08 EddieKABQ
November 28, 201015 yr I have noticed something today. When flying at flight level or after climbing thru the clouds I am noticing a strobe flash effect. If I stop the weather updates it stops the flashing. Is this a known bug that can be fixed? I am using FEX for the clouds/sky.Jim Jim Wenham
