I was going to post that when flying with Open Clouds running, every five minutes or so, my FPS would plummet for about 10-15 seconds. I assumed it was from the weather being downloaded and updated. I then found the newer version available and downloaded and installed it and it has apparently fixed the FPS drop! Thanks again for a very cool program. Truly appreciated.
Yes version 1.06.4 contained a lot of tweaks that fixes the issues with slower PCs.Version 1.07 due later this week is planned to have:An automatic program updater in it.Much quicker initial load.Hopefully a key to report on the nearest Metar to your location.Japanese lanquage correctionsFix where some upper winds can be out of date.

Fix where some upper winds can be out of date.
Does this avoid things like:"Ladies and Gentlemen, as our high altitude winds are from yesterday, we feel very sorry to tell you that we will arrive tomorrow." :Silly:Sorry, just joking, Dave. Impressive work of yours and very fast evolution of the program too. Keep up the good work.

I will be testing soon. If this program works as advertised this may be one of the greatest contributions to this game (and highly generous of you to make it free). Like someone above stated - some of us simply are looking for a believable ILS experience with piercing a solid deck of stratus clouds ending with very low visibility landing. Kudos.

The update fixed the FPS slowdown issue for me 100%. You say this only affected slower PC's? I run a i7940 @ 4ghz and saw the issue, but now its gone :( Also.... thank you sooooo much for this FREE gift you gave the sim community! I use FEX and now with this GREAT add on you have provided it is like a new sim. I am uploading a video as we speak I made showing it off a bit and will post a link here later. Once again... many thanks, and I agree with adding a donate button on your site.Jim

Very good video there.Am I the only one who has gotten a bit sentimental when viewing it? Cloudy weather, dusk or night times, the environment passing by and some calm music. Liked it and it showed the very realistic looking weather of this great little program too. Thank you.

Dave:I am having troubles with FSX and Open Clouds if I use the Time Rate acceleration. Big swing of winds and also if I step out like when using the Sim's menu the graphics card goes berserk. After that I have to close everything to fix it.It is really really good otherwise. It does enhance the view outside. I need it now Dave.Regards,MAB

Jwenham, great video. Suprised you were suffering with the frame loss with the earlier version, didn't affect me at all with a slower PC. Anyway, it does look like 1.06.4 has been a winner for most people.MAB, ref speeding up time, not something I'd tested so I'll have a look but I expect this to be better in the next version. (Out tomorrow with any luck.)Not sure what's happening with your graphics issuse, can you replicate this behaviour and tell me exactly how I can get the same problem?

Thanks! I have a question for you:Is there a way to disable the winds aloft to prevent a the weirdness that happens when the winds shift direction? Thanks, Jim

Not at the moment.I'll stick one in for you, with luck in the next update

I have been playing around with this utility for an hour or so. It's quite well done. It produces results similar to certain payware utilities (which will remain unnamed) and is nice, simple, streamlined, and very fast to load the weather into FSX - really just a kick butt job! Many, many thanks for this.

Dave, if you do, please make it an option and not just disable it, as many of us dont have that problem and use winds aloft for flight planningTks
