Angle of Attack's instructional course. Contains more than you will ever find out by reading the Manual.Chris Palmer and Nick Collett did an absolutely amazing job with the MD-11 and I learnt heaps more than I would have done by just purchasing and flying the MD-11. In my honest opinion, anyone who bought the MD-11 and that hasn't got this course, is missing out on so much. I paid for it. This isn't a plug, just an appreciation of fantastic work.

I chose the MD-11, but I will add a caveat:"So far..."The only reason I didn't choose the J-41 is because it's on a different level, compared to the others (B744/MD-11/737). No only is it "lite," it's a completely different kind of flying. I'm not even going to compare it to the jets.

I must add I agree with both above... So far sums it up as it's hugely enjoyable.AOA's course is full of information I agree Dave and well worth the money, It has sure helped with keeping ahead on landing for me.John Ellison

The AoA course on the MD11 has made me appreciate it more than ever. This is a highly computerized aircraft and PMDG did a great job of simulating it completely. AoA, along with the PMDG manuals are really opening my eyes to just how much fun it is to fly the MD11. It is keeping my mind off of just waiting for the NGx.I agree that the J41 is a different kind of aircraft. It's very well made and complex, but hard to compare to the MD11.

I'm still in the AoA pre-flight portion. I haven't flown my MD-11 since I bought it due to waiting for the course. I love AoA's 747 video course, really taught me alot. Wish Chris would tackle the J41.

  • 2 weeks later...

I wish AOA would consider the PMDG J41 also.. I know it would be fantastic.Ron Musick

Adrian, if like me, you want to enjoy the most the sim has to offer, enrolling with both is the short cut to learning everything about the potential of enjoying to the full these simulations. I can tell you that learning this way is much more satisfying than reading an 800-900 page manual and only half of it, sinking in.

Gavin, it's nice to help the flightsim fraternity and you too mate. A happy new year to you. Nick Collett, I have had contact with and has helped me immensely (I'm a senior citizen now with occasional 'senior moments' haha)EZCA is available from 'Flight 1' (money back if your not satisfied) and makes everything realistic. You can even get by not using 'TrackIR', which incidentally works fine with EZCA, you can control your view with the mouse, like you could with the 'F1.view DLL file'.I use both together and with the training Nick has uploaded his settings for everyone to enjoy flying the MD-11 just as he was within the tutorials. An excellent package for everyone that owns the MD-11. I guarantee that you will all learn things that you would never have understood reading the manual! This is addictive instruction that after watching them inspires you to go fly the MD, enjoying applying all you have just learnt. The situation files also place you straight into the right place for doing what you just learnt.

I am currently logging flights in either the MD11X or the JS41. I have others on my new system, but I am hardly in them at the moment...I need to build up the hours on the MD11X :)Andrew

I thinks it a hard question. Because they will alway come out with better sim aircraft as FS gets better. As far as the MD11 goes thats the aircraft i fly most of the time i enjoy it immensely
