January 8, 201115 yr Hello friends I'm here to reach out to you guys in behalf of cls they are currently working on a new version of the Dc-10 so far the good thing is that they have access to the cockpit. so thats good! :( what they need now is someone or if you know somebody that has access to a Dc-10 aircraft. they want to get as many photos as possible for the exterior model so it cant be the best it can be! so please if you know of anyone or company willing to help, it will make this project and people that love the DC-10 in awesome aircraft for fsx. I don't know the details so you would have too contact Albert at cls.I love the Dc-10 very much and its been always one of my favorite aircraft. and I was hoping for a higher quality DC-10 for fsx so I was very happy and surprised when cls mentioned there DC-10 HD version for fsx, I will be posting this at other flightsim websites to hopefully be able to get someone with access for them. http://www.commerciallevel.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9635 Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED

January 9, 201115 yr I'm sure it will look great, just hope they add a few systems modeling and realism for the FDE. Much needed for that classic!
January 9, 201115 yr "you know somebody that has access to a Dc-10 aircraft."There's Fedex and the Air Force (KC-10), and then there's the boneyard. Not many operators of DC-10s these days.
January 9, 201115 yr Expectations are high, and when I say high, I mean as high as how they'd expect back when the MD-81/-82 was parked in the CLS workshops. I wonder if the ill-fated PK-GIE will be featured during that new release...Dave. January 9, 201115 yr It better be a true FSX model this time. Otherwise, I will not buy that plane. I was actually quite disappointed with their 767 and their 747 because of the lack of realism and functionality. I'd love to see them get their feet wet and accurately represent an airplane with all the proper systems included. The "lite FMC" packs that they keep on releasing time and time again, has become one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen. They need to hire on more programmers rather than more modelers. January 10, 201115 yr God bless--- Ernie! You're far more kind than I! It is with great verbal restraint that I don't reach out and grab Mr. Newbie by the virtual throat and give him some real realism! I for one have grown very weary of the so called *hard core*, elitist simmers who take every opportunity to insult and browbeat their brethren, who just happen to be the vast majority of the sim community. It reminds me of my motorcycle dealer buddy from the 70s who used to muse out loud "if you don't ride a Harley then you ain't s---!* Then he would scratch his head, smile, and add - *I guess that means, if you do ride a Harley, then you are s---!*Bruce Scott
January 10, 201115 yr OK I consider myslef a hardcore simmer enjoying the full realistic, that type of guy (love anything PMDG has done as well as LVD).With that I LOVE the CLS 747-200, in fact I find it "tougher" to fly than the PMDG 747-400 due to less automation. Maybe some things are not there like the RFP 200 or as in depth as the PMDG 400 but it is still a nice addon with a less than forgiving FDE.If they do a DC-10 along the same lines as the 747-200 they did I will buy it. I love the complexity of the PMDG and LevelD birds, but deriding the older steam-gauge cockpits really shorts one of the difference in operation. Yes there is less eye-candy and it won't fly itself for you, but what it lacks in automation can be compensated for by actually trying to "hand-fly" and plan the flight profile and routes. Can be great fun to get back to those roots of INS nav, etc.About the only real gripe I have with the previous -10 is in regard to the FE panel. Bugged items like the fuel gauges/controls and some of the basic systems' operations on that panel don't seem to have been addressed. Still, from up front it's a great beast to fly. January 13, 201115 yr The Dreamfleet 727 and RFP 747 are the 2 airplanes I miss the most flying on in FSX these days. But I enjoy CLS for what it is, don't expect 100 duplication but the airplanes are fun to fly.
January 14, 201115 yr Bashing CLS for being CLS is just plain ridiculous, you don't like what they make , don't buy it, go pay more for PMDG, etc and get the realism you want.I never installed any of their airplanes exactly for that reason. I really enjoy having the options available to do just about every function in the cockpit (In other words, if they take the time to model out a certain button, they should at least give it a function). I simply think that it is a little absurd to charge people so much money for an airplane that is incomplete. A perfect example is the MD-81 that they just released recently. Compare this to the Flight1/Cooksky Super 80 for a minute. Somehow a single dollar separation means the difference between a complete airplane and one that is only partially complete. I don't get it... :( Eric Swanson FSX Deluxe Edition, FSX Acceleration, PMDG 737, PMDG MD-11, PMDG 747-400, PMDG JS4100, Concorde X, Captain Sim 707, Captain Sim 727, Feelthere PIC E170/E190 , Quality Wings 757, Level-D 767, Carenado Baron 58, Carenado C172II N, Carenado C208 Grand Caravan, Carenado PA 28 Archer II, Q9550 OC'd to 2.91 Gtz, 8GB DDR3, GTX 460 1 GB, ASUS Xonar Essence STX Sound card , 1TB SATA HDD Email me, and I'll do Virtual Airline Movies!

Paying an extra $15-$20 for features you never use would seem to be a waste of money. It all comes down to what kind or level of flight simmer you are, as to what is the best value for you. There would seem to be room in the market to satisfy the various customer wants/needs out there.Regards.Ernie.
