Thanks for that link. Looks sweet, doesn't it?Also seems to open up some new possibilties.Ron

We at the "old" Posky had known for some time that "polygon limits" could be bypassed for FS9but we did not want to tell Mr Kok of Aerosoft as that is his favourite catch phrase! :( Don't tell Carenado either or they might start producing for FS9......they have just caught on to 3D gauges! :He He:I am just teasing the developers really...they choose which sim they wish to develop for. I have no problem with that...but polygon limits are no longer an excuse. :(

True, I have heard already from some developers that they found ways to bypass it. Looks bloody good, that plane!

This is a wonderful news :D I was happy for approximately a minute, but then..apparently there is one other big cause is that more developers are saying good bye to Fs9Rolling%20Eyes.gifRolling%20Eyes.gifRolling%20Eyes.gif So even this can actually happen,I don't think it is persuasive enough for the developers.Just a question,I wonder if ...more polygons=lower fps ?

:( Let's tell him....Its been 'flying' around for a while that polygon limits in FS9 can be surpassed - but nothing like a fantastic 3D model to prove the point and that Boeing Stearman is looking incredible!I'm looking forward to this:'.........he will be releasing this beauty soon to the world as freeware and a proof that such technology can be done in FS2004.. 'EDIT:

Read through the article (around the 6th paragraph) - apparently its not an issue.

Trust me when I say that it's not a big issue.

Another wonderful new freeware aircraft for FS9 just released - an amazing Dassault Mirage III. Check elsewhere on the forum for link. It's payware quality - fantastic work. FS9 dead? - NO WAY!!!! :(

Exciting stuff. Really looking forward to some developers cranking out new products in high detail. Too bad this didn't go public several years ago! I agree with some of the previous comments and think it will be VERY interesting what happens to the FS9 market of freeware vs payware. I entered FS9 just 1-2 years ago and was quite pleased to see so much becoming freeware that was once payware. Could this stop/slow that trend or even reverse it?

FSX is dead, long live FS9!Serious: Have you ever heared of a game, which was released approximatly 8 years ago and is present till yet and "played" and can beat out it´s successor? Yeah, it´s Fs9, it´ll never die as long as we don´t give it up.BTW: The model looks good!

Best regards, Steffen

I have, yes. There are quite some games that despite them being old, are still being played, mostly because successors lack in either gameplay, story, or both.Although, it's not as dramatic as with MSFS...

What I would absolutely love to see is a consortium of developers buying out the FS9 franchise from Microsoft and getting full access to all of the coding. Incorporate all the improvements that the MS team ignored such as redesigning the internal ATC and other things that were never addressed from FS2002 and then release it under a new name. I'd buy it - as long as all our other addons continued to be supported, who wouldn't? If an open source program can continue to be improved, as FS9 has shown it can, why not keep it going if it's profitable and continues to have a market? Afer all, that's why the "other sim" has done. (Not going to say the "X" word in case I get in trouble!) :( Yes, I know - it's not going to happen. But we can dream!

I own other sims but only use fs9 on my system. Far from dead to me .Thanks for posting the great news! :(

FS9 has infact killed all of the other sims behind! Let's just say that Flight will soon too, be a victim of FS9 as well. Dave.
