February 19, 201115 yr I'm no expert, but you've not given us the model?OR any of the other essential specs of the card. Ross Thomson. Intel i7 @ 4.2 Ghz | 10GB DDR3 Corsair | GTX 460 | 600W OCZ | Windows 7 Ultimate 64x. Email me
February 19, 201115 yr So... did you forget to post your video card? Also FSX is CPU intensive so really your CPU will determine how well FSX will run.
February 19, 201115 yr Author It is an AMD premium in an HP laptop. it runs FS9 just fine, but FSX only the default aircraft get 30FPS. So is FS9 card intensive and FSX processor intensive, is that how it works? I really am looking for hope I can run this, as I gotta have it, it is so awesome.Michael Pare Michael Pare Extreme Boeing 737NG fanatic
February 19, 201115 yr Commercial Member Do you have any other FSX add on planes? If so what FPS do you get with them?I think they're hoping to have the NGX frames be somewhere around the MD11 or J41, so do you have one of those add ons? What about scenery or texture add ons? all that plays into it.You also didnt give us the specs on your laptop. If the best FPS you can get with default aircraft is 30 than I wouldn't hold out much hope for a premium add-on, but tell us more about your rig. Noah Bryant
February 20, 201115 yr The truth is, no one knows how well the ngx performs but it is suggested, as above, that MD-11 \ JS4100 are good benchmarks.I would hold off any hardware purchases until it's actually released [ no one knows when that'll be ] so don't waste your money as the card may be obsolete when the ngx is finally available. February 20, 201115 yr Just forget it to run FSX with complex addons (scenery and/or aircraft) on this kind of hardware. I own PMDGs MD11/747/JS4100 and in relation to their complexity they are quite frame friendly, but you won't be happy running them on this kind of hardware. Stay with FS9 or buy better hardware. ------------------------ Regards, Otto Schäfer
February 20, 201115 yr the processor is an AMD Turion II duel core mobile M520 2.30GHOK, but what kind of graphics card/chip?You'll probably find that in the "device manager"Best Regards,Bert Van Bulck
February 20, 201115 yr Author I may just have to stay with FS9 until I can afford a more powerful computer.Michael Pare. Michael Pare Extreme Boeing 737NG fanatic
February 20, 201115 yr While neither your video card or your 2.30 Ghz "duel" core will likely run anything on the NGX caliber in any enjoyable fashion, perhaps these "duel cat processors" would do the trick? Kidding aside, the others are correct, you would get better enjoyment out of FS9. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
