Look What Wilco Does

Featured Replies

Just finishing a new FSX installation. The final addon aircraft to be installed was the Wilco 737.These are 'before & after' shots of what the Wilco install did to my dll.xml file...I now have two addon aircraft that won't work as a result.I know this is a very old issue - just thought I'd actually clarify it.

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

Never happens to me anymore, I refuse to buy or use FeelThere or Wilco products anymore. Feelthere EJets 195 with the HUD was a joke, Feelthere's Ejets also inaccuraetly burn fuel resulting in fuel imbalances. Wilco.....well you know.

Mine is looking ok although I have both wilco airbus packages installed.

It seems to be totally random which installers do it - my ERJ 2.0 and E-Jets 2.0 installers don't do it, but we've had customers submit tickets saying theirs do. It's a virtual certainty that when a PMDG customer gets a missing dll error trying to load our MD-11 or 747 that there's a Wilco/FT product as the last entry in their dll.xml. We've tried asking them to fix this numerous times and our emails go unanswered

The ONLY wilco product that allways does it for me is the 737.

HORSE APPLES!feelThere HAS ATTEMPTED to contact PMDG for years about this ... 'you' went so far as to delete the multiple threads that were opened two-to-three years ago in 'your' forum that stated again and again that there were users without the problem and PMDG was wrong. vic, was active in those threads and he NEVER received a civil response in 'your' forum, and NEVER received an email from anyone from PMDG. vic also sent repeated emails to multiple PMDG 'staff' with ZERO, none, nothing, not one answer.if feelThere is at fault why isn't the AVSIM, FLIGHTSIM and other FS related forums FILLED with comments and complaints? the issue comes up every 6-10 months ... makes one think that the problem is on the specific computer ...if you really and truly wish to work with feelThere log onto http://forum.iemit.com and send a PM to vic.--

I have owned virtually every product that Wilco and Feel There have made and the same goes for PMDG and have never have had any problems with either. Both companies make great products.John Bauer

I never had that problem or even have known about it until I read this post this morning. Strange. Must be an SP2 thing.

This is the first contact I can ever recall seeing on this issue from anyone affiliated with Wilco/FT. Why would I delete attempts by your team to solve the issue? That makes zero sense. I have literally hundreds of support tickets from the past year in our archive in which someone submits a ticket saying their MD-11 and 747 no longer work and are throwing up errors regarding our dlls not loading. I have them attach their dll.xml, I open it with Notepad++ and the file has been stripped of the CR part of the invisible CR LF newline characters and the last installed entry in their lists is invariably one of yours. The idea that this is our fault is absolutely ridiculous - as soon as I put the correct CR LF characters back in, their addons start working again. Look at Phil's screenshots in the original post here - Notepad can't interpret LF only newline characters (which is a Unix convention) and so it displays it as one huge line of text. You can verify the stripping by using a text editor that can read them such as Notepad++, UltraEdit etc.As I said earlier, you may have fixed this with your newer products (I don't see it with my ERJ 2.0 or EJet 2.0) but I do believe most of your older installers are still doing this. We see way too many tickets for it to not still be happening. I have definitely seen it confirmed by customers with the Airbus X and 737PIC X. They take a known good working dll.xml, run your installer, and the file comes out with the newline chars stripped/changed as in Phil's post here.

I had the FeelThere ERJ V2 and had to uninstall it, lots of crashing when trying to use it, I think I would rather use default then that stuff.

Ciao!

Oh Per - lease....?...and if Wilco AREN'T at fault, then WHY IS IT that out of my other 67 payware addon aircraft in use, that no other single aircraft causes this problem.Don't get me wrong. Old and dated as it is, I LIKE the Wilco737-300/400/500 and it still gets a LOT of use in my sim. Baring this issue, I have problems recommending this. Unlike many addons, it did work 'pretty much' out of the box so to speak.However... It HAS, most definitely caused me serious problems over the years with this (but only this) issue.Due to your comments above, I feel I must aslo point out that both Wilco AND Feelthere have both ignored all my email and forum requests for help in this matter.

Scoob: Well after reading this.. I'm definitely not buying the Airbus Evolution. Seriously if you can't be bothered to fix a simple installer you don't deserve my money. Next time use the XML reader/writer for programatic entries and stop whining that it's actually somebody elses fault.
