March 11, 201115 yr PMDG will maintain it's market base even with the Ifly release coming soon, probably before the release of the NGX. However, I think PMDG would want to usher in new users to the "heavies" market, but if the Ifly get released first it will most likely have at least a small impact on sales. March 11, 201115 yr Thanks, JP, I just (could) read "http://ifly.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=2317&title=fsx-release-date-is-it-true" and forgot about thinking. :(
March 12, 201115 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the information, but I think that only current customers (of the 737) can access it. As FS9 is long gone for me (and maybe some others), we'll rely on you telling us that the shipping date is confirmed. :smile:Reading about a great support over there and the value of this soft skill is a pleasure by the way.Since the nice FS2Crew addon is already available for the FS9 version, the FSX one might get it too, so another vital part seems to be available soon. As said, interesting product all the way.The FSX iFly will have FS2Crew as well, and it will be free for FS9 owners.FYI, we just released Version 1.2 of FS2Crew for the iFly 737NG.Version 1.2 is a major Service Update.More info here:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/329769-version-12-released/Cheers, B. March 12, 201115 yr Great news, Bryan. So we'll see your product supporting all upcoming FSX 737 offers (the iFly is supported, the NGX will be too, separately of course), leaving a choice for every customer. Thanks for that.
March 12, 201115 yr the system are simulated in deep but the question is (how deep comparaed to the PMDG one): the flight model will be like the PMDG ngx? just see the incredible MD11 flight model (within the fsx limit) ....the 737 NGX will be even more sophisticated. ifly 737 is an excellent addon, the best simulation but - in my opinion for now - after the PMDG one. u cant compare it with PMDG...anyway i wish good luck for both the developers teams and a sane competition.davide lee
March 12, 201115 yr David, how can you compare when neither has been released for FSX?Common Sense.History.Experience In DevelopmentReputation.Support.PMDG possesses these, therefore CHANCE are PMDG's will be better, WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY Better. March 12, 201115 yr Oh ok, well that says it all. Until they are released it's all speculation at best.
March 12, 201115 yr Ifly get released first it will most likely have at least a small impact on sales.Agree, especially with all the (PMDG) fan boys they have there. Bobby Arnold
March 12, 201115 yr Common Sense.History.Experience In DevelopmentReputation.Support.PMDG possesses these, therefore CHANCE are PMDG's will be better, WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY Better.Again agree but you have way too many "Way" there. Don't sell those IFly guys too short. They have put out a solid product for a young developing company. Hopefully they will stay together for a long while. Bobby Arnold
March 12, 201115 yr Again agree but you have way too many "Way" there. Don't sell those IFly guys too short. They have put out a solid product for a young developing company. Hopefully they will stay together for a long while.Bobby, I own the iFly and its very very (two verys, that's ok right :() good. The PMDG NGX however, according to the hoarse mouth (PMDG Forum) it's going to change EVERYTHING about how be simulate an Airliner. In terms of limitation, accuracy, graphics and feel I think we are in for a great suprise! March 12, 201115 yr Moderator Bobby, I own the iFly and its very very (two verys, that's ok right :() good. The PMDG NGX however, according to the hoarse mouth (PMDG Forum) it's going to change EVERYTHING about how be simulate an Airliner. In terms of limitation, accuracy, graphics and feel I think we are in for a great suprise!I agree that the PMDG version will probably be about as in depth as is possible within the confines of FSX and a desktop sim, in fact it may end up being too complex for some people from what I have read in their threads about how deep the systems modeling will be. I can only imagine that due to its complexity and systems modeling there will be endless posts about bugs that dont end up being bugs, but actually due to the way the aircraft operates in the real world, especially after reading Robert R's comments on the way they are modeling things that the average user probably would never even notice. The way I look at it is that since they are actually working with and have a relationship with Boeing, they will no doubt make this the most realistic depiction of a 737 possible. Not to take anything away from ifly because I am sure theirs is nice as well, but the PMDG version will probably be more like a study/pro version of the NG than what iFly offers.Either way, its nice that for us as consumers we have a choice between what looks like it will be two great 737 products. April 1, 201115 yr Oh ok, well that says it all. Until they are released it's all speculation at best.PMDG has an agreement with Boeing that allows them direct access to proprietary Boeing engineering documentation, and after reading some of the posts, Boeing seems to have a slight involvement with the project. Robert of PMDG has stated that he has demoed the NGX to Boeing and they were blown away by it, and if necessary he can contact Boeing with questions regarding specific technical details and data about the 737NG. I may be wrong, but I doubt iFly has this level of access. Also, the PMDG MD-11 is a masterpiece in itself and is about 2.5 years old so it would stand to reason that the NGX will be on a whole new level above the MD-11, although it is hard to believe it.
