X-Plane 10, End of the year ?

It is very common for real pilots using full motion simulators to do various takeoff and landing scenariosthat last only a few minutes. Actually it's an important part of their training. Also in real typerating one alsooften go to remote airports and do touch and go's So I don't see whats wrong abouttaking a 747 for a 30 min spin. Not all of us enjoy stearing at the HSI for 8+ hrs Yawn.gif

I'm sorry... but why are folks so bend out of shape about what someone else does in a SIMULATOR.... unsure.png

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

You are funny Jim ... you answer is a baby answer LOL.gif
you are too funny .... point was about realism ... Flying a 747 from KDET to KORD is not realism. So folks post here all the time about realism, and yet they fire up a 747 for a 30min flight the never happens.
In Japan they fly heavies between Tokyo and Osaka dozens of times a day. Although it's mostly 777s now, 747s were the work horses on this route for many years. That is about an hour gate to gate (so maybe about 40 minutes flying time).

And KDET is too small for a 747 anyway!

per your message .. its not the 747 equipment any more on this route

Oh come on, now I think you're trolling! Now historical real world flights aren't realistic? Give me a break!

Thanks

A couple of comments ... I am to old to be a troll .. but one thing i do know is that "young folk" use the word troll when they disagree with another poster. Also, if you read the post I was responding to .. you will see the the poster did say that the 747 was no longer used for the routes ..

IIRC, there's an operator out here that flys 747s from San Diego to Phoenix once in a while. LOL

And what does all this have to do with XPlane 10??? happy.png Talking about "realism" , "747" , "flight Sims".. so where's your engineer? What about your "navigator"?? You won't get off the ground IRL without a co-pilot! Face it.. it takes longer to learn to simply start a 747 IRL than it does to learn to fly one in XPlane then take it around the world. Guys are having "fun" with a game that kinda simulates RL aircraft so let them play it as they see fit.Praying.gif
