April 1, 201115 yr Ticket from UK to AUS..£800 1 way.Ticket to space £200,000...Do the math.Planes will not be effected by this im sure. And I'm sure the directors of the major cruise lines like White Star and Cunard Lines said the same thing after Lindbergh crossed the Atlantic.Think about it, time is money and eventually as the technology is worked out the price will come down and you be able to get from London to Sydney in about 2 hours instead of 20 hours. Just like the Concord it wasn't for everybody but there were certainly people who used it precisely because time was money and their cost/benefit ratio justified the expense. Now I'm not saying this will happen overnight it took 30-40 years after Lindbergh for the airplane to obsolete the cruise ship as a transportation mode, but it is a real possibility that some time this century low earth orbit travel will augment or replace very long-haul jet service. April 1, 201115 yr Low-orbit flight will eventually make its way into corporate America; or I guess I should say corporate globalization. Though I sure as hell don't want to be one of the pilots to help pioneer it. In the early 1910's and 1920's hundreds died trying to pioneer aviation, in the 50's and 60's several died trying to pioneer rocket travel. Something tells me low orbit space flight won't be any different. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
April 1, 201115 yr Now that the question of how to become an airline pilot and an aircraft mechanic have been possed.I'd like to ask how do I become an astronaut, now that the NASA shuttle program will be officially halted?Commercial space travel will be comming very soon. So seriously how do I become an commercial astronaut? He're a sad story:http://www.npr.org/blogs/krulwich/2011/03/23/134597833/cosmonaut-crashed-into-earth-crying-in-rageStefan Ticusan Stefan Ticusan

April 2, 201115 yr You know what, I think you should just eat lots of egg and baked beans. You may have a small intestinal explosion.
April 2, 201115 yr First, get hold of 1.1 million pounds of ammonium perchlorate. Next, you're looking for a 150ft long steel tube. You can probably get this online.Carefully, pack the ammonium perchlorate into the tube until it's full. Don't smoke while doing this, smoking causes cancer.Take the wick off a regular skyrocket and affix it to one end of the packed tube. Sellotape will do just fine. To the other end of the tube, glue a deck chair. (Do NOT weld, this doesn't work so well) Borrow a buddy's crane to get the thing upright. Ideally do this somewhere safe, like a school playing field.Borrow your buddy's old Football helmet, assure him he'll get it back. Use his crane to get up to the deck chair. Use a length of rope about 3 ft to tie yourself to the deckchair, (safety first!).Get your buddy to light the wick and have him move away a safe distance, at least 3 miles. Finally, yell "to infinity and beyond!", close eyes, and prepare to be world famous... :wink:Edit: PMDG or its affiliates are not responsible for any damage to property caused by following these instructions. Results may vary. That was epic dude!!...I fell off my chair Nanjul J. Dakat
