May 20, 201115 yr VRS F/A-18E Superbug. (VRS is the PMDG of the fighter world as far as I'm concerned) QA 757. (Not a advanced "system sim", but she'll do the basics and its a blast to fly)Aerosoft Twin Otter. (100's of hours in that plane! Just love it!!!) Ryan Syferd (KSEA)
May 20, 201115 yr Hardware is finally allowing developers to produce some interesting things.Personally, the DA-20 is very interesting, and to a certain degree makes me want to understand what goes on under the hood. Best GA plane I've seen for FSX, definitely the one to beat in terms of depth.Chris Farrell Chris Farrell
May 20, 201115 yr Hard to say its a renaissance when you are using examples of planes that have been on the market for a couple years. More like a list of good aircraft. I however do think that there is a renaissance within FSX. I however see it more on the scenery side of the spectrum. Top developers have been able to increasingly make better scenery covering more ground, with better frame rates. The new technology FSDreamteam created for ground textures, allowed for taxi bridges, shaders, and almost no frame rate impact compared to the default scenery. They are by no means the only ones with innovative designs just an example. While these new aircraft are exciting, I find that having awesome FPS friendly detailed airports to fly into make a huge difference on my immersion factor and have made me truly enjoy FSX more in this "renaissance". May 20, 201115 yr Aerosofts H36 Dimona is also an interesting thing as it's a motorplane and a glider all in one. Turning the engine off in flight and just flying with what the weather gives you is also a very interesting thing. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
