I'm under the impression PMDG are making this jet supert perfect due to a secret agenda with BOEING. My two theories are either they are attempting to impress Boeing so they can continue to have access to the "files". Or so this addon can actually have a place in the aviation world as a Boeing but also FAA approved simulator given the right enviorment.

This is too ridiculous...

Boeing has placed no restrictions like that on us, I can assure you. We have our status with them based on our previous products - we want to blow the previous products away with this one, and that's really the only reason. We're all perfectionists here probably to a fault... if only I could post some of the IM conversations we've all had going on about features haha...

Jeff, I like it!Particularly Meticulously Detailed Geezers was my best effort but I prefer yours. As part of the team who are 'wide beta' (well I am being presumptuous but here's hoping) I know I'm hanging out for this add-on as much as the next guy. In fact, my iPhone email chime went off at 5AM this morning and I HAD to check it, just in case it was RSR with the big news. It wasn't. Yet. Oh well. :-)I'm off this afternoon to pound the traffic circuit at my local aerodrome for an hour or so. With or without the NGX arriving in my inbox that makes for a pretty Sierra Hotel weekend in my book.

Robert,In previous post from yourself you said once in goes into beta it was only a formality of the beta testers to check the installation of the product and only a matter of days. Now your telling me in may be a matter of weeks now? Can you explain?

Joe Park

Beta is also to check hardware compatibility, and to check for bugs that the airline folk haven't found.

Joe Sherrill

Robert, I find these types of posts very cool in that they give the software non-professional a glimpse "behind the curtain". More of these in the future, please, even for trivial stuff, to the extent you think appropriate.

You are making it up. RR never said anything about "days", rather he said it would be a "short affair". I guess considering that their previous betas lasted months, a beta that lasts weeks is still a short affair in relative terms.

Hi Joe,I know RSR's pretty busy right now so I'll chime in here. The quote below is from the 'Approach Checklist Please' post.
In the next few days we anticipate rolling the NGX out to our wider beta team- and they will carry the product through the installation/flying/documentation portion of our testing process. We anticipate this taking only a short period of time, as the product they will receive should be largely issue-free.Thirdly, with my second item (Above) in mind, I believe that we will be announcing the estimated release date a day or two AFTER our wider beta team sees the NGX...
Note that what Robert actually said was he hopes to announce the release date a day or two after the wide beta team gets the NGX. Not necessarily that the release itself will occur that soon. Also the words 'only a formality' have not left his mouth to the best of my knowledge. Wide beta will still be meticulous and as thorough as we can make it.Further to that, I see Robert has been quite careful to frame this entire update (as with any other) with speculative terms. NOTHING is guaranteed, and no single thing he says on this forum is a verbal contract to which he or the team can be held. Please understand, I'm not bagging you for asking what's up. Rest assured, though, that the wide beta team will work their wide beta butts off to ensure that we don't hold the show up once we do get hold of it. :-)

Jeez guys. Ya gotta relax on the release dates. It'll come! Everyone is hard at work on this thing. I will tell you what. The first person that doesn't mention a release date, I will BUY the NGX for you.......if that makes sense. I will tell you the results on release date!JackColwill

Great update, I love technical updates! :)Keep up the good work PMDG!
