June 4, 201115 yr This one is really great! The VC looks awesome with new texture! Thanks for your info. David Chen
June 4, 201115 yr Hey Rafal why don't you guys post some screenshots of your cockpits night cockpits (night, dusk, and dawn) at different angles? Maybe somethings not right on my end. Sorry for late reply, Dillon. Here's some screens of the new PSS 777 VC I took today - 2 at night, 2 during day and 1 at dawn. Remember that I removed the mipmaps from the textures (both old and new) to eliminate bluries. Also I saved them as DXT3 so that they load faster (and take up less space too). I am very happy with the result, even parked my PT Tu-154M for a little bit and have been spending more time in the PSS777 with its new VC!!!! (It takes a lot to draw me out of the PT Tu-154 and I can never really stay away from it for long) If you want any other screenshots from other angles let me know - I'll try to post them as soon as I can. Rafal, from some of your screenshots you appear to be missing the clock gauge in the VC, with both old and new textures.
June 4, 201115 yr Imagine that - look here guys. I always had an issue with PSS777 vc textures loading slow when you switch the lights on. Lo and behold, just like a similar issue I read about with the Maddog2010 vc, the 777 vc textures also have no alpha layer. So, using the maddog 'fix' I just opened and re-saved them with dxt2bmp - this automatically adds the alpha layer - problem solved. I also changed the format to dxt3 at the same time for the heck of it.Apparently the lack of an alpha layer causes issues with texture loading - don't know why - somebody with expertise can say. This tip is of course only for people like me who might just use these replacements 'out of the box'. Regards, Mark
June 4, 201115 yr Author from some of your screenshots you appear to be missing the clock gauge in the VC, with both old and new texturesYes, I removed it as it was driving me nuts with its flickering. I also have some (rather slight) flickering of an AP part (maybe ALT or HDG digits, not sure now). The flicker was present in the original textures and the new ones too. You, guys, don't have the problem?BTW I have NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT with latest drivers and nvidiaInspector.Momtchil and Mark, you both gave us some great advice. Thanks a lot!

June 5, 201115 yr Momtchil and Mark, you both gave us some great advice. Thanks a lot!No problem, I hope it works well for everyone. Yes, I removed it as it was driving me nuts with its flickering. I also have some (rather slight) flickering of an AP part (maybe ALT or HDG digits, not sure now). The flicker was present in the original textures and the new ones too. You, guys, don't have the problem?............ I had that issue as well, with the original VC textures - the clock was flickering a lot (I considered removing it too, it was annoying), but then I removed the mips from the VC textures because I didn't like the 'bluriness' and also experimented by converting them to DXT3s - after that there was almost no flickering on the clock gauge (only a little bit from very odd angles - it was no longer an issue). The issue returned with the new VC textures as they were saved in the same form as the originals, after re-editing those in the same way - the clock was ok again. I haven't noticed any flickering on the AP part of the VC, maybe something really small on some of the digits when you really zoom into them - but its not enough to be a problem. Imagine that - look here guys. I always had an issue with PSS777 vc textures loading slow when you switch the lights on. Lo and behold, just like a similar issue I read about with the Maddog2010 vc, the 777 vc textures also have no alpha layer. I didn't consider they may not have an Aplha Layer - its true, adding that can help if you're having issues.
November 22, 201312 yr Note, in the panel.cfg are luminous values, you can play with to brighten it a bit at night.
November 22, 201312 yr For the PSS777 users who want a more tamed version of the FDE, you can use my FDE. Just pace it in the type of your 777, and edit the aircraft.cfg to read: sim=PSSB777LR-GE in the aircraft of choice. Rename the file to .air, or PM me with your email adress if it doesnt work. Have fun.
November 22, 201312 yr The photos here look like a vast improvement - I agree that the cockpit textures were a weakness of the PSS 777 - I used to fly it a lot and loved the plane, but I thought even then those textures could have been better. But REALLY??? .... "due to the lack of a better/newer version of the triple seven" ... haven't you seen the PMDG 777 yet? It is a vast improvement on the PSS model - another league altogether. You'll never need/want to fly PSS again. Take a look at it! ozzieblr Cheers, Brian L Robinson Flight Simmer since 1983 - loving the brilliant Quality Wings 787 and all PMDG models!!
November 22, 201312 yr Btw, she is looking good indeed! You'll never need/want to fly PSS again. Take a look at it! ozzieblr Its for FSX ozzie, and we are here in the FS9 forum. But yes of course, it will be MUCH better. But for FS9 this is all there is.

November 23, 201312 yr Sorry - hadn't noticed this was the FS9 forum - time to upgrade to FSX and PMDG???! Cheers, Brian L Robinson Flight Simmer since 1983 - loving the brilliant Quality Wings 787 and all PMDG models!!
November 24, 201312 yr If you want this on the POSKY/SkySpirit-PSS Boeing 777's, check out my merges. 777-200ER: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/392445-new-poskyskyspirit-pss-boeing-777-200er-merge-packages/ 777-300ER: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426133-new-poskyskyspirit-pss-boeing-777-300er-merge-package/ Delete the wing views from the panel.cfg. Change the model to a VC version from POSKY (I think you will need the original POSKY models not the newer SkySpirit models as they don't come with a VC). Add VC textures into the texture folder Add the VC config into the VCockpit section of the panel.cfg And i think that is all you will have to do. Enjoy ^_^ Nandan
