May 25, 201115 yr i have heard many people using this program. For people are using it how much change the experience with PMDG aircrafts ? And there's any iussue with performance during flight ? Marco Negri
May 25, 201115 yr Hi, I have no issues with FS2Crew and in my opinion it adds much realism to your flights. I can't imagine flying without it!Should you buy it? Yes you should! Also: For me it doesn't have any impact on the Framesrate. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
May 25, 201115 yr Doesn't affect performance very much at all. If you want to do all the proper procedures for a flight and simulate having a co-pilot to do that with, then it adds a lot of realism to your sim, allowing you to do that in a believable way. So if that's what you are after, then you should consider getting it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 25, 201115 yr Marco, I will say yes as well. I have the MD-11 (button) and the J41 (Voice). The button is ok, but the voice is awesome. I see you are in Italy, and clearly you understand English (the latter being important for voice control). Because you probably have a windows version in Italian, you need Windows 7 Ultimate to have the voice work. (There's some work around too, but I forget what it is because it only applies to non-English copies of Windows.) I love the J41 with FS2Crew. You say things and the FO does things. He helps start the plane and set up the speeds, leaving you to fly. Sometimes you have to repeat things if the sim doesn't read you right, although doing voice training does cut that down, but that's my only real complaint. Its completely immersive. If you can get over the fact that you're sitting in front of the computer issuing commands into a headset and your wife/girlfriend/whomever is possibly standing behind you laughing at how silly you look, you will enjoy FS2Crew completely. Head over to the FS2Crew forum and look for the issue for non-English Windows users. Or just post a question for Bryan who's very responsive, although you two are on the other side of the planet from each other, so it may take awhile. I've noticed no loss of frames at all with use of FS2Crew. Zero. (YMMV) If voice control isn't your thing, the buttons work too, and are simple, but it sort of guides you through the steps more. You push the green button to lower flaps, and again to lower flaps and then drop gear, etc. Always in the right order. With voice control you get more chance to make mistakes and get yelled at by the FO or the plane. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
May 25, 201115 yr One thing worth bearing in mind with FS2 Crew stuff, is that it is a product which has evolved in sophistication with every new release for an aircraft, so if you compare the recent iFly 737 version with one of the very first ones ever done, such as the one made for the default FS 747, you can see (and hear) how much it has improved with each new version. Thus, if you wonder why so many people are impressed with it, this is one of the reasons. All of them are good, but the more recent ones are even better.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 25, 201115 yr Yeah, the voice commanded editions are amazing IMO. Some prefer the button ones, it comes down to personal preference
May 25, 201115 yr Buy it :( | I7 2600K @ 4.7 | GTX 550 TI | Corsair 8GB 1600 | ASUS P8P67 | Cooler Master V10 | Corsair TX650 | Thermaltake V4 | SAITEK PRO-FLIGHT YOKE - GS THROTTLE SE Eric Canto
May 25, 201115 yr Bryan, makes an EXCELLENT product, and you'd be best to try it out. His dedication into improving it, is top notch.I know this, as I was lucky enough to help BETA test the earlier products, and speak from experience. You won't be disappointed. Paul Heaney - CYKF
May 25, 201115 yr I looked here accidental:P and tomorrow I buy it to guys...because Im wrought up!!!Thanks Volkan
May 25, 201115 yr The voice version sounds interesting. Does that allow you to stick a microphone on your head and rattle off commands such as "gear down", "flaps 20", etc and the gear will come down and the flaps will go to 20 degrees? Can you command your co-pilot to "start engine one"? Matthew Bellette

Can you command your co-pilot to "start engine one"?I have the 747-400 version which is good and yes you can do both those things. Other things like command the push-back by voice, perform checklists. Turns lights on and off and other stuff. My only gripe isn't that the copilot won't do the co-pilot preflight flow and he leaves the packs off after takeoff. But I highly recommend it even so.

Can you command your co-pilot to "start engine one"?Yes and more. I love the voice edition. It adds 100% to the immersion factor. You can ask for headings/speeds/alts and the FO will set them on the MCP etc. Unfortunatly the MD-11 only has the button edition which does not allow quite as many commands (the MD11 has no proper SDK yet and that makes it harder to make an interactive FO.) The J41/Ifly/LDS767 and a few others do have voice editions and as stated above are very very good. Also the Ifly voice version allows things like De-icing (you dont see the de-icing though but the FO will set the aircraft up in the De-ice configuration. You may find you have to learn to fly all over again as you learn to fly with your new best buddy.I really really hope the PMDG737NGX comes with a proper SDK like the J41 did so that there can be a proper FS2Crew for it. It would make me cry if there was no SDK for this thing when its released. May 26, 201115 yr The FS2Crew versions created with SDKs J41/Ifly/LevelD are truly great. None are bad, but those three are the tops IMO.
