It's really nice to see that area getting represented some more in the sim. Together with some freeware (search the library) and fewer payware airports my steam gauge planes and also that fancy new 737 will see some nice spots for sure.Don't worry, David, your wife would be the first one around getting exited about some new flight sim scenery. Seems like diplomacy is needed then. :(

I completely agree with you guys, this is an area of the world that is sorely under-represented in FSX, (AAA from Aerosoft an exception). I can only imagine Africa as such a vast and varied continent has some amazing flying vistas. :(

So.... Asia is the last step??rolleyes.gif

Yes, and I'm very much looking forward to it!Nick's GEX is an amazing add-on that brought the barren globe of FSX to life!Cheers,- jahman.

Coming up on Cape town as I type....one word...WOW!! Spectacular work guys!

Uh, Anthony Vos (the developer for FS9 and FSX versions) was there a long time before anyone else "joined" the team. Credit needs to go where it's due.

Yes, absolutely! Thanks for the correction.Cheers,- jahman.

Indeed an amazing addon. Flying around the "new" Kenya and having lost the weird sandy textures thanks to SceneryTech's landclass, I think I might go for Aerosoft's AAA. I love the Twinotter and need some special places to fly it. It's such a loverly and stable aircraft to fly that I absolutely need to fly it more often.

The Twotter is a good idea. But what about this one then?dente3.jpgThat paint was a free addition to the still fine Digital Aviation Do-27 and is has some story behind it too.

To be perfectly accurate, Peter Wilding was the developer of Ground Environment as well as Flight Environment, Anthony was part of the team and with GEX and FEX, they went their seperate ways after Pete turned GEX over to Anthony.

This really makes me wish there was an Ultimate Terrain for Africa and the Middle East about now. GE is good by itself, but UTX makes it almost perfect!

I installed the new GEX last night and then finished a flight through South Cali to KAVX. My overall impression was that the new textures are a significant improvement along with much nicer UT night lighting and roads. The Fly-over LA was nothing short of FANTASTIC! Although I never fly in Africa or the MidEast I will now reconsider some flights over there. For now however I am quite pleased with my new NA UT textures and feel that this GEX version is well worth the $27 US.Note that the install is extensive so go about it with a good deal of patience.Cheersjja
