May 31, 201115 yr Author It jolted to a stop. And it was a hard landing, but from the cockpit it was actually smoother than you'd think, I had to firmly put it on the runway, and get the nosewheel down. I've seen harder 747 landings, in real life (Kai Tak!!). Inactive
May 31, 201115 yr Cool video and neat paint job. But, to split nits, you did roll onto the displaced threshold there at the end, which is a no-no. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers

May 31, 201115 yr His options were the displaced threshold or the water. I'd prefer the threshold. What about you? :(Actually, to amend my previous post which I made without having ingested sufficient coffee, the chevrons on the end of the runway aren't a dipslaced threshold, its unusable/unsafe pavent. The DP is at the other end with the arrow. Personally, as between using the unsafe pavent and the DP (which is only for take off, not landing, normally), I would have used the DP. June 1, 201115 yr Author Anyways, I forgot where i got the livery, but I'll be releasing a takeoff in a coupel days. I have some more projects, but takeoff is the next video. Just a note, I'm keeping this one at the top for longer, its gathering views, and many of mien are reaching the 1,000 mark, which is great for my start-up channel. Inactive
June 1, 201115 yr Epic Landing Indeed!! :( I think I saw Jim Tebow out next to the runway saying "#####"??????We had a major airline 737 land at a local airport KTTD instead of the Portland interantional airport KPDX, which was 10 miles away. This was many years ago 1970's. Anyway, the runway was way too short too take off. So the entire 737 had to be dismantled and reassembled air a suiteable airfile. LOL!!So this leads to the quesstion, can you take off a B747-400 from Unakleet now that you have landed one? :( Cheers,Billybob BillyBob David M. June 1, 201115 yr How come you didn't show where your nosewheel was in the video? I have a sneaky suspision that it went just a tincy-wincy bit past the baracade. Very close, but no banana!I'm just kidding...it is a very pretty landing. I sure couldn't have done it. Robert Yunque
