That thing stops in 3,800', somethign that MD-11 can never do! Enjoy Guys! Please comment and of course, please hit that subscribe button on my channel! May 31, 201115 yr That thing stops in 3,800', somethign that MD-11 can never do!I don't know, empty i could stop the MD in about 4500ft and that was without the high decel brakes, idle reverse, an not trying (mostly because it was a 9000ft runway). Ryan Gamurot
May 31, 201115 yr Author Well, the MD-11 has a high-approach speed, and by flying by-the-book (as I did for this 747) you couldn't get in there, I tried. Besides, McDonnell-Douglas said that the aircraft shouldn't be landed on anything shorter than 8,000ft. (I violated the rules of runwaylength for this, but the MD-11 doesn't make it regardless). Hope you enjoyed! Inactive
May 31, 201115 yr I can stop under 3500 feet, but I need the fire crew to help me cool down Joe Barton
May 31, 201115 yr Strange replay from the point of view of the runway near the end of the video. Nosewheel pointed hard left and no middle pair of landing gear at the rear! Other than that, interesting (yet very hard impact) landing to do. Matthew Bellette

May 31, 201115 yr Not sure about this Dutch Harbor landing, looks very hard, wonder if in real life landing gear would not have collapsed. Michael J.

May 31, 201115 yr Nice job i have flown in and out of DH IRL and that is a sketchy airport to get in and out of. Each time i came in to DH the visibility was was bad or it was snowing/raining Those pilots are top notch..... It would be cool to see a 747 land you would give the whole town quite a scare! May 31, 201115 yr I didn't cut anything out, you see the nosewheel stop before teh gate, thats EXACTLY where it stopped.Nice landing then. I thought the aircraft was still moving around the 55 seconds mark before you switched to wing view. "A life is like a garden.
