We all know it was a fake screen shot, it took a while for Phil Taylor and somebody associated with the camp to recuctantly admit that though. My point still stands ... MS have been guilty of fake screen shots before, why are they exempt this time around? But I protest too much ... really I do enjoy MS FS more than any other genre ... I've built a high end PC just for Godamn FSX :)I pray MS Flight is at least as good as MS FSX ... yes I love FSX :)Honest appraisal is always good though.
The PR department released 1 concept art that was never supposed to be released. Out of HUNDREDS of VALID shots they released in total for FSX. 1 shot. 1 bad screenshot and MS is the next a really bad dude? Give it a rest. First and formost, they learned there lesson dont you think? There is no way they would do that again because it would be a PR NIGHTMARE!!!! Im sure its still a VERY bad taste in there mouth with almost daily reminders of it like yourself. If they did this stunt again, there would be no forgiveness. That is exactlly why they CANT and WOULD NEVER do it again!Give it a rest already. Dont damn an entire product because of 1 bad screenshot in an otherwise shining and stellar product run. I mean come on! 30 year franchise and they are dammed for 1 screenshot. If that makes sense too you, then your just a troll. I would understand if they did it again with other products, or even the add-on's, but nothing like this ever happened again, and never happened before.

Hmm...I can see your point, but considering that I have been at this from day one on an Apple IIe, and have owned every iteration of the sim that has been put on a store shelf I'm afraid that when you slip like that it's going to haunt you. Truth in advertising is important...to me at least. It remains to be seen if the lesson was learned.

Oh dear, have I hit a raw nerve? I'm on your side you IDIOT.Anyway, looks like the tide is turning ... YES I'm extremely exited MS are back with a new FS ... do I believe every word they say ... nope ... their past track record of deception demands caution ... because quite simply, they know how to lie very well ... Its the MS PR Guys talking, not the developers anymore.Having said all this, all pre conceptions aside ... I'm as excited as anyone else about this. Please don't screw it up.

Track record? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 1 bad screenshot in 30 YEARS of the franchise = a back track record? Are you INSANE? Man, did someone from ACES kill your cat or something? You truly have some pent up rage against them!Forget it. Troll is a troll is a troll. Im not feeding this one anymore. He's getting fat as it is.

Whatever you say ... but in truth, you are the only one who seems agitated here.

Good to see you can concede mistakes from the mighty MS ... lets just hope Flight is not a mistake too.
Angry are we? A little bit? Maybe we can all get together and donate the cost of your purchase of FSX. Seriously, what didn't you get? Foam on water and god rays? I still don't see people asking for them in their wish list. Its been 5 years, don't you think you should let the bitterness go? Not for MS's sake, but your own?

I just wish they would show a bit more than Hawaii at this stage ... what have they got to hide?
Maybe they haven't got anything more than Hawaii. Perhaps MS intend for this version of their sim to be a modular release. After all they know that most purchasers play a few times and then put the product on the shelf, however there are also a large group of people who not only continue to use the base install but go further and purchase many add-ons.Maybe MS have realised that once people are hooked on one high definition package they won't be able to resist purchasing other areas. It would not surprise me, look at Rise of Flight and their method of building their sim. Continual revenue coming in rather than one single purchase, more opportunities to listen to their user base rather than one huge product which people ###### about continually.Start small and build from there, makes sense if you think about it.Bryan.

I dont think you mean this .... very single commercial product is enhanced during its advisement. .... one quick example, have you ever had a McDonalds sandwich that looked like the commercial .. i know the answer, never! Like I said, every single advertised product is enhanced beyond its actual state .. so if you mean this .. there is very little product that you can buy or that you should fully believe the advertisement..

Then us simmers in Europe have a very long wait.

Can't imagine MS would want a protracted dev time, maybe something like ORBX around 1-2 years.Bryan.

Peapol think if ms make a deal with ORBX to make flight's scenery that will be great.

I really hope not. Imagine the kind of limitations this would put on say multiplayer sessions, where you would all have to buy or own the right piece of the world to fly together. Then also I think about the immersion factor, how do they segment the world? Do they put up big invisible walls, you plan a trip and then midway through get a pop up telling you to get out your credit card or turn around? Rise of Flight is not a global simulator, they can get away with having invisible boundaries because you stay where the action is anyway.I think they are just developing one area, building up the autogen/texture/code base before replicating it globally. I suspect this might be one of the reasons the development areas are islands, like little microcosms of the whole, a clear and definable area for the team to work and complete. Then once all this base material is ready it is just a matter of feeding it all into the land classes for the continents and building airports and the various landmark scenery areas.

Perhaps it will be like flying in Orbx territory and when you'r out of it you fly into default Flight like in FSX?That's why I was asking if Flight Hawaii was default, if it is nobody will need add-ons and if Hawaii is like a store add-ons (free with Flight purchase) modular release does make sense.Either way it can't be both.
