Virtavia C-17 Globemaster released

A "niche" mil product like the VRS F/A18E sells for less and it surpasses all other developers in terms of offering excellent FDE, system modeling, VC quality, FPS performance, and true innovation (collimated HUD, NAVFLIR). I'd say the F/A18 is underpriced...
Agreed. The VRS F/A-18E is above many high quality payware aircraft out there, yet the price is relatively low. However, remember that essentially the VRS Superbug is a two-man effort and the cut each gets from the price is thus bigger than with the C-17. More people working on it means a higher price for all to get a high enough share.

Very tempting by looking at the 2D panels and VC and exterior models, but no FMC?

Thanks,

Fortunately and unfortunately iFLY has reclassified what it costs to buy a high fidelity aircraft. System-wise the iFly 737 is on par with current PMDG and LDS offerings in terms of complexity + every NG aircraft included plus free repaints - all this at $55 US. It makes it hard to justify a dumbed down aircraft for the same price.
Its a good point. Its not just true for dumbed down aircraft though, its also true for high fidelity aircraft. Its going to be just as hard to justify a higher price for high fidelity product, when iFly is only $55, that's $25 lower than PMDG's MD11.We may not want these prices to come down too much more for these high fidelity products. They take a lot of time and effort too develop, and we want them to keep being produced. That might not happen if the market does not allow them to make a good return on such a significant investment. It will be interesting to see the price of the PMDG NGX considering iFly's current price. The Virtavia C17 IMO is not really a direct competitor to iFly, its really niche , mostly military use. I can't see manyVA's adding it to their fleet.Regards.Ernie.

Absolutely agree. Most of us don't go out to work for a pittance, and there is no reason to expect others to do so.Al

A fighter jet as popular as an F-18 compared to a boring old cargo jet without any offensive weapons? Not to mention it was so deep systems wise that it appealed to casual simmers to learn how to fly a fighter just like Maverick.

Well, it being on sale @ PC Aviator, I couldn't let it past. And, guys I will tell you, I just returned from "droping" some troops out in the desert and I must say I had a great experience. Yes I like it; it flys nicely. I love the a/c integrated moving Map, the VC (and over all) graphics, the HUD, the performance, and sound-set. Yep, no FMC, and not at VRS quality ;but, hey all the rest compensates for it. Not a top-of-line a/c but it is more-than-acceptable...I'm ENJOYING IT and I fully approve this message.

Yeah, that's why despite it being offered for a mere $14.97 on sale, I gave it a wide berth.

Is it still on sale somewhere?

Does anyone have an issue with no nose wheel steering?

The nose wheel does not turn and stay fixed in forward position.

Virtavia support stated it does turn, but offered no insight on how to make sure it does.

I have tried at various low speeds and up to 20 knots, no turning nose wheel.

Thought to ask if anyone has same issue and if there is a fix.

Thanks

I've had same with pmdg 747 and pmdg support was unable to figure out. Make sure advanced animations are enabled in fsx options.. its the only thing I'm able to help with. Good luck!
