...JahmanMind your own business. When people put words in my it is an issue with me.Maybe not to you, although I'm sure you'd be singing a different tune if the shoe was on your foot. Now for the third time, kindly direct your comments to the topic of the thread. What do you think about win8Good day.
You need to look past W8 as just a new interface.Cheers,- jahman.

That's cool, but notice that it is not conveniently placed in the QWERTY layout. The point I was trying to make was that QWERTY was designed in the 1800's to slow down typing speeds so that the old typebars on old typewriters wouldn't jam up. That is no longer an issue today.

My point exactly: You keep confusing W8 with its GUI.And don't try shaming me. My Mom tried that one on me when I was 3 and it didn't work then either.Cheers,- jahman.

I bet she can't shame you.Karma will come collecting. Have fun paying up.

I'm outta here! Hey, and don't forget to look past the GUI! :-)Cheers,- jahman.

"When do you ever use a semicolon key???.."Quite often, actually; also colons where appropriate. Just call me Mr Punctuation..Big%20Grin.gif

Indeed. But you'd then need to have a different keyboard layout for every language that uses the Roman alphabet (hence my rhetorical query about "which language?"), and even that takes no account of left-handers. We at least have a universal standard; it's outdated but it works (note the semicolon :().

They do that allready, You can buy a US Standard keyboard, French Canadian keyboard, Spanish keyboard are a few that come to my mind. I am sure there are more but I am not the most diverse person in the world, I just speak english with a nutty accent....Here is a wiki page that shows different layouts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layoutCheers :(

I use the Columbus Typing Method; for each letter, discover and land. In other words, I type very slow. I need a real keyboard. However, the rest of touch screen intrests me.Bob

No, not really. Just because it's a porsche on the inside doesn't mean you desire to go racing in a vehicle that looks like a garbage truck.
