June 28, 201114 yr Considering FSX ATC is heavily bugged and it does not consider neither SID nor STARS etc.. are you going to kill it while using NGX or anyone of you have perhaps found a way to talk with it without having a nerve attack ?Thx
June 28, 201114 yr Considering FSX ATC is heavily bugged and it does not consider neither SID nor STARS etc.. are you going to kill it while using NGX or anyone of you have perhaps found a way to talk with it without having a nerve attack ?ThxIt depends, where did NGX study law?Seriously though, no, I stopped using the built-in ATC some years ago. June 28, 201114 yr Seriously though, no, I stopped using the built-in ATC some years ago.Same here. It's Vatsim or nothing, for me. I've considered Radar Contact 4 but I can't be bothered to spend that much on a product I won't use all that much. Maybe if an RC5 is ever released?Anyway, the only time I've ever used default ATC is never. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

June 28, 201114 yr It depends, where did NGX study law?LOL I looked at the title funny as well...Anyway, I prefer VATSIM for realism and because well... it's very cool simulating real world procedures and talk to real people, but sometimes I prefer "talking" to ATC all the time as computers than only sometimes as people. Meaning, virtual ATC has the entire globe covered, and VATSIM sometimes only has specific regions.I also do many short/medium-haul flights (most of my flights are indeed short/medium-haul; about 2 hours on average more or less) in non payware aircraft (I only own the LVL D 767, PMDG 747, and the QW 757) like PA A320s or other fps friendly stuff... that are not equipped with FMCs or SID/STARS which wouldn't work well on VATSIM . I like to follow actual airline airplanes (so a 767 from KLAX to KLAS wouldn't work for me so I would use either freeware planes or default planes with addon liveries) and neither of those 3 are too fps friendly either, which would hurt on VATSIM as well. But the real thing is the FMCs. If I had an FMC for every plane, I would be on VATSIM every day. Best regards, happy flying, Wallace
June 28, 201114 yr My lawyer suggested that I not sue over this as Microsoft is too big of a corporation and usually wins in court.
June 28, 201114 yr I haven't gotten online yet with VATSIM but I'm getting there. I've been using Radar Contact 4 for quite some time and to me, it was well worth the money. Don't have to rely on who's online and where I can fly due to sparse coverage at the times I decide to fly (often very late). It has its shortcomings, but it's also leaps and bounds better than the default FS ATC. I can't wait for Radar Contact 5 though. I think that project is taking as long as the NGX, if not longer. But like the NGX, I'm sure it will be marvelous when it comes out. Tony
June 28, 201114 yr If I was going to sue FSX ATC, I would employ the services of a lawyer rather than a short/medium haul airliner. Whenever I have tried to sue anyone using an airliner as my legal representative, it has ended up being a fiasco; even very small aircraft have difficulty fitting into a courthouse and they rarely have any legal training worthy of mention. Who could forget the time my A320 was charged with contempt of court for saying 'retard, retard' at the judge? But to answer the question, Radar Contact will be my weapon of choice.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 28, 201114 yr Commercial Member I use FSX ATC and it works well for me.It depends on the AFCAD.If it has detailed Approaches you can simply ask the ATC for an Approach with Transition XYZ and you can fly your STAR without Problems... Daniel

June 28, 201114 yr Lol! Me and my friends always joke about the Airbus "retard" call out. We figured it was there specifically for us U.S. pilots. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
June 28, 201114 yr i spend 99% of my IFR time with Radar Contact4 and its fantastic. It lets me do SID/STAR and visial as long as I request it. Its so much better than default atc. Only thing it does not do is Ground operations and VFR. I also love that you can hand over the radio to your FO. He will answer ATC while you set the new Heading/Alt/Speed into the Autopilot. If you have a voice version of FS2Crew you can even ask the FO to set the MCP so you can fly hands off. June 28, 201114 yr Who could forget the time my A320 was charged with contempt of court for saying 'retard, retard' at the judge?Sir, that was genius. Sheer genius! :( :( However, Judge Judy was much more angry after my 747 opened its flaps and dangled its dunlops in front of the jury. Adrian Burley London, UK
June 28, 201114 yr I have Radar contact, but I bought Vox atc when I started flying for real to try and practice my radio calls. I'll be honest, I haven't actually used it for that purpose yet, but it seems to be more realistic than Radar Contact 4.The only frustration with it is I, like many other pilots, tend to abbreviate when talking on the radio, and Vox atc tends to get a bit upset when you tell it you are "reading you 5's"Ben W
