June 29, 201114 yr I use RC4 and PFE but when I want a rush I head on over to Vatsim, its the only thing that gets my hands cold and sweaty.
June 29, 201114 yr Same here. It's Vatsim or nothing, for me. I've considered Radar Contact 4 but I can't be bothered to spend that much on a product I won't use all that much. Maybe if an RC5 is ever released?^This | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 29, 201114 yr I have Radar contact, but I bought Vox atc when I started flying for real to try and practice my radio calls. I'll be honest, I haven't actually used it for that purpose yet, but it seems to be more realistic than Radar Contact 4.The only frustration with it is I, like many other pilots, tend to abbreviate when talking on the radio, and Vox atc tends to get a bit upset when you tell it you are "reading you 5's"Ben WLingo is something better practiced with real human beings. I don't think it's a great idea to use a canned program to practice radios (procedures are another story), but rather Vatsim as everyone has mentioned. And guess what?! It's free! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
June 29, 201114 yr If I was going to sue FSX ATC, I would employ the services of a lawyer rather than a short/medium haul airliner. Whenever I have tried to sue anyone using an airliner as my legal representative, it has ended up being a fiasco; even very small aircraft have difficulty fitting into a courthouse and they rarely have any legal training worthy of mention. Who could forget the time my A320 was charged with contempt of court for saying 'retard, retard' at the judge? But to answer the question, Radar Contact will be my weapon of choice.AlAl you really are a hoot to have on these forums. At least I can get a good laugh. I do not think I would want an aircraft representing me either. They would get put in contempt of court for desecrating the floors with their 'bodily fluids.' June 29, 201114 yr Flight network organisations are better than FSX ATC. If you want to simulate, use the service that those organizations gives you, but if you want just to play use the FSX ATC. In my opinion the 737NGX deserves a flight network organization with the human control. The FSX ATC is like a "trampoline" to boost the newbies to flight simulation in depth. June 29, 201114 yr I stopped using FS9/FSX ATC years ago. Its absolutely pointless. Still remember the time a couple of year ago when it vectored me while under IMC into the side of a mountain while doing an approach into Aspen. Poor traffic logic, no terrain clearance logic= certain death! Plus as mentioned above, I want to fly the published SIDS and STARS. Ryan Syferd (KSEA)
June 29, 201114 yr Hi,I use RC4, VATSIM/IVAO coverage is just to sporadic and I'm not about to start dictating my flights based on VATSIM/IVAO coverage. KABOOM! Notably Radar Contact and the DBS profile radar, although now that several FS aeroplanes have the VSD in them, that DBS add-on rarely gets used, and in any case, RC vectors me properly in that area.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 29, 201114 yr Lol! Me and my friends always joke about the Airbus "retard" call out. We figured it was there specifically for us U.S. pilots.Don't forget us over the other side of the pond! Rgds - Sam Harridann
June 29, 201114 yr Many years passed by but I am still interested on knowing, face to face, the FSX ATC programmer and his responsible. MS Flight will almost certainly miss an ATC but for the sake of the simulation I wonder why during last years only Radar Contact built an ATC ( IMHO that 's quite good but nowdays it is too old both as concept and graphic ) . If you look at third party add ons there are dozens .....hundreds.....thousands of producers who release airports, airplanes and all FSX related stuff on a monthly basis. I am surprised why no one release an ATC, considering the FSX one is pathetic and it doesn't pertain to the human brain for sure. I bet, if a producer released a working and nice ATC for FSX it would sell thousands of copies all around the world ... it is easy to program and it does not need any 3D graphic........hey PMDG, in between the 737 NGX and the 777 why don't you produce an ATC ???-
June 29, 201114 yr But the real thing is the FMCs. If I had an FMC for every plane, I would be on VATSIM every day.You can have a FMC in every plane... June 29, 201114 yr People can use default MS ATC with procedures, for those who can't purchase rc4 or are missing coverage online. The trick to doing it is to load your flight plan as you want, when you are at your top of descent you request lower altitude from ATC, when ATC gives you the "you are so and so miles out turn heading..." message, you ignore the turn and continue on your procedure, ATC will whine at you "please expedite your turn to heading..." but, it wont cancel your IFR. It's better then flying into terrain or being sent off to nowhere as that happens often.
