Reasons to Choose MS Flight

I think it would be interesting to hear people's thoughts on the following question:What features and/or attributes would MS Flight have to have in order for you to switch from your current sim (FSX, FS9, or other) to MS Flight?

Significantly better performance without sacrificing/improving upon the visuals and flight dynamics of FSX..... though in truth the only feature it would need for me to buy it is called "released." If it is available, I will buy it.

At this time, I can't think of any reason not to buy it. There may be things that will come out down the road that might alter my opinion, so nothing is set in stone. But I anticipate driving around trying to find a copy, just like I did with FSX.

Moving the Graphics Eugine and main working load to the GPU rather then CPU.GPUs update all the time and in many cases even doubling their performance, hence even if the current GPU would strugglewith the load, the same would probably not be the case in a year time.the Upgrade of a display adapter is far easy and cheaper then replacing a totally new system (in case it is depended more on the CPU, RAM MotherBoards, etc would need to be replaced for an Upgrade). If MS Flight would be based on GPU it would win me out.

It boggles my mind that people on this board will pay 50 bucks for an airport scenery like it's nothing but then debate whether they'll buy Flight, a full featured product, for the same price if it doesn't mean every little demand they have.

I completely agree, I don't understand it either. That's why I don't pay 50 bucks for better scenery rolleyes.gif, the max I will pay is like 20. I'll just wait till flight comes out ! happy.gifJamie ♥

*btw, when using the term 'game' it is an umbrella term, it also includes simulation and racing games, and everything in-between. Do not twist my words.

"A video game is an electronic form of play that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device" - the definition of the word "videogame", game is the common shorthand for videogame. Just being clear.

1) As I've owned every incantation of this product from the Flight Simulator franchise since the SubLogic days for me Flight must be Revolutionary rather than Evolutionary2) Move forward in simulation not a "dumbed" down game3) Engine capable of taking advantage of todays "modern" computing systems e.g. 64 bit, DX-11, multi-cores - no use in having that with an engine developed in early 2000's and subsequently hacked to try and keep up4) Revised cloud engine - with cloud shadows5) Simple upgrade process from FSX to Flight without having to reinstall Giggs of add-ons - BUT if they told us we'll have to re-install everything or that half of it wont work because it's a completely new modernized design/engine I'll be happy tooRemembering all the broken promisses of past versions and unrealistic expectations on my side and cursing becuase I've been dissapointed by upgrading my hardware to power the space shuttle and be disapointed by single digit frame rates, I'll most likely go out and get it anyways

Because The base Sim "Flight" will be the foundation to build on,potentially spending hundreds or thousands of $$ on.addons

Besides ANY OTHER REASON I would sure HOPE that Flight Sim enthusiasts would want to hope for a product to get better in the future and if we don't support it we'll never know either way. I think it's utterly sickening when I hear people knock supporting a product that they've got so much enjoyment from. Because you are stuck on 2004 or FS98 and can't run FSX that's a reason NOT to support a franchise. HOW in the world do you THINK it got to those versions to begin with! My message is to pass that on to everyone you know! Then tell them why you think it's horrible or why it's so great.

Are you sure ye of 2 whole posts, both in this thread, should be playing forum police? I think not.IRBF, is stating that we should strive to look on the positive side of things and not the negative. It's OK to be realistic, but to bash something just for the sake of bashing is not in the hobby's best interest.
