I tried the same thing with my other 737 but the outcome was totally different :(
I'm not even going to attempt to try to test the "other" NG on the level of systems fidelity we can expect in the NGX. I will say that until next week, it is the best NG out there, and I'm satisfied with my purchase, because I have been able to learn the basics and practice procedures that for the most part represent the true nature of NG operations as compared to other types. I have gotten the flows memorized, know when to extend/retract flaps, and all the basic knowledge I have gleaned from the web and the PMDG printed manuals I am able to replicate in their rendition of the NG. But I do notice the difference in LNAV/VNAV behavior that I find to be less than optimal, and the features that just aren't simulated, and know that once I get into the NGX cockpit, I will be rewarded with flight controls and systems behavior that will match the real bird almost 100%. I'm putting in my final hours in the other bird, but I no longer have the desire to check their forums for future fixes, as I am certain that it will be put to pasture for good very very soon, and I'm very excited to be witnessing flight simulation history being made. In a way flying the other NG was like having a simulator within a simulator, and flying the NGX will be akin to stepping into the real deal for the first time after months of simulator and ground school time.

Well said A.J.I haven't had to do without a 737 in my fleet, and I appreciate that, but it would sure be silly to fly anything less than the NGX for a 737NG after 8/04/11.

Chidiebere, just download and install "RealPlayer" for free. Then when you play the video online, you will see a floating download button on top of the video while it is playing at the beginning. Just press the button and the video will download to your harddrive.RealPlayer Free DownloadMake sure before you install it that you uncheck any box that may install a Google toolbar or McAfee stuff. (of course you can always uninstall it if you forget)

You guys don't even need to go that far. If you find the video on Vimeo you can download the source file there.

Yeah, I already have RealPlayer, and I download movies from youtube and vimeo, etc. but I kept hovering the mouse and nothing was showing, so I thought it might have been blocked or something. But I found out the reason. I updated RP and it kinda reset my preferences. Thanks

You can get it from temporary internet files folder after it has been completely downloaded.I did this for the first (cockpit) video and it is 1 GB in size.

Those schematics are excellent. The FCOMs have been dumbed down quite a bit over the last decades, it's a shame really. We are designing all of our own schematics for our training incorporating detail from many sources. We've nearly completed the Hydraulics System schematic and it's come together really nicely.

Great videos Nick! I have a question: What is the function of the 'CHIME' switch on the overhead panel? It appears to have been stickered over the obsolete 'no smoking' switch.
