August 9, 201114 yr Welcome to the club ..... :-( Take a look on this too: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343096-terrain-nd-what-is-that/page__fromsearch__1 Holger Mute
August 9, 201114 yr As you can see in "my" thread (link above) it is not every time the case. So try to reproduce the problen (local circuit or so) Holger Mute
August 9, 201114 yr I got this coming into LFMN twice today, samething keeps happening, I have Aerosoft LFMN V1 installed. Pics attached. I was like 4000' above the middle of the sea and kept getting pull up and caution terrain warnings. Pics are attached. What route/weight/fuel/etc? I just tried flying around that area to see if I could get it to happen, but never could. Do you have terrain peaks mode on or off? Same with show water in cyan?

Both times I arrived via the VEVAR6R arrival, both times via the NERAS transition, and both times I landed 04R. Rónán O Cadhain.
August 9, 201114 yr Author I can confirm this happened again coming into SEA last night. I'm flying to anchorage right now so when I get there, within 45 minutes, I'll post screens if I get it. Just like the others it makes a little block of red in front of the airplane that doesn't go away. If it happens this time I'll try to do a go around and see how high I have to fly to get it to disappear. Maybe the system is lagging behind the actual position? It's annoying to see "Pull up" on the HUD when trying to land. Other than this and my strange night textures issues the plane is fantastic! For nerds on Vatsim, I'm ASA81 right now. :) Ryan Vanderbrook
August 9, 201114 yr I can also recreate this every time at YBCS (ORBX) UPOLO2A arrival for 15ILS, Granted on approach to the direct right of the Runway is a massive mountain but its not that the EPGWS is picking up. Simon Roberts
August 9, 201114 yr I also have the red and yellow block close to the aircraft symbol on the ND, My impression is that it has something to do with duration of the flight. So far it only took place at longer flights. First Pic approaching LEBL (Aerosoft) after a 2h flight Second pic was made during a local circuit (same position as in pic one) - no problems here Holger Mute
August 9, 201114 yr Author Well on that flight into anchorage everything worked perfectly. Must depend on the area? Holger, happened to me on a short hop to Portland from San Francisco but not on a Seattle to Anchorage run. I'm not sure if it is length of flight. Ryan Vanderbrook
August 10, 201114 yr My best suggestion is like the one I gave Holger. Try turning peaks mode off. You'll know it's off when the 3 digit numbers disappear. Peaks mode lets you see terrain even if you're more than 2000 feet above it. Turning it off can result in a loss of terrain visualization on the ND if you're more than 2000 feet above any terrain, but it might help for your random terrain warnings. Try it and report back to me. I'll see what I can do to solve this. Henry C.(Made by MM7)
August 10, 201114 yr This actually happens to me as well when I'm on the ILS into ENGM. It's strange, because I'm flying the ILS perfectly, and the surrounding terrain is quite flat. So it shouldn't be an issue. --- MSFS | DCS | X-plane 12
August 10, 201114 yr Author Well just had it happen again. I was landing in Phoenix and what do you know, I get a big red blob. Ryan Vanderbrook

Try it and report back to me. I'll see what I can do to solve this. Just completed my first full flight with the NGX 800WL from KVCV to KBFI. The aircraft performed flawlessly in every regard with the exception of this terrain problem. Approaching KBFI on the Olympia 7 arrival, I started getting the red blocks and "pull up" messages as I descended below 4000 feet on a right downwind for a visual approach to runway 13R. Before departure from KVCV, I turned peaks mode OFF, and "show water as cyan" was also turned off. Time enroute was about 2 hours. Based on what others are reporting, this issue seems to be related to the amount of water in the vicinity of the arrival airport. LFMN, KSFO, KSEA, PHNL, KORD - all places where people are seeing the false terrain warnings, and all airports which are immediately adjacent to, or surrounded by, large bodies of water. Either that, or perhaps the simulated EGPWS is not transitioning to approach mode. The EGPWS computer receives status signals from the flaps and landing gear, and its response to terrain should change once the aircraft is configured for landing. August 10, 201114 yr i have the same issue once on approach for the ILS RWY 05R at EDDL. at about 3000ft AGL. No dramatic mountains in that part of Germany so close to the Netherlands! using FSAltitude Europe, but that's just flat photographic scenery placed over default scenery. August 10, 201114 yr Henry, the peaks off may work but this is not the solution I´m searching for because I like to see the terrain in cruise. Nevertheless I will try it on my next flight :) Thanks,Holger Holger Mute
