I use full landing config. at RTT, and during app. Try to land at LSGS, its more challenging than LOWI. :) Lj. Prodanovic
Hmmm. Perhaps I'll give LSGS a try.

Are you serious: Sion Airport never heard about it. But thanks now i have a new airport to fly to :-D

I hadn't heard about it either until today. There are some great LSGS cockpit videos on YouTube.Trevor
Interesting. It feels strange but makes absolute sense.
thats because LOWI is under the category "high-drag approach"

Cheers

Can anyone tell me how to make a 26 (or 08) departure from LOWI? I designed and programmed the following route into the FMC, but I'm not too sure how to fly it:LOWI ADIL1H ADILO Y703 MOGTI UP66 KPT UL856 NEGRA.NEGRA1A LSZH Neither of the SIDs out of LOWI run straight out. It appears that you have to hand fly the departure and then join onto the SID somehow. It's this bit that I'm unsure about. I tried hand flying the departure, making a left hand turn and joining the ADIL1H SID, but the VNAV went a bit screwy. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Thats rwy26 SID, so: Climb visually with maximum rate of climb along northern side of the valley (visual track 270*-275*). In the area of village 'ZIRL', turn visually LEFT, join OEJ on course 067* inbound to AB, continue on 067* OEJ course to D0 OEJ, turn RIGHT to INN, 289* bearing to ADILO. I suggest to not use VNAV during SID. YOu can flight this sid via MCP. Your only vertical restrictions are: 7700ft or above at OEJ, and climb gradient 6,5%. EDIT: there are vertical restriction 4300 or above @ RUM (that should be OM for LOC DME, but it can be used during take off too) Lj. Prodanovic

Another interesting on to fly is the ILS 31L/R at LFML Provence (coming from Montelimar of course) Has to be done in full raw data and weather at absolute minimums :) Great combo of navaids and tracking! Really (done it a lot on my previous type of a/c which was pretty basic raw data) CheerzLenny

Many thanks guys, much appreciated. That additional bit of info in the charts was what I was after.

Sometimes, it's easier to read text description, than to look at map. :) Lj. Prodanovic

Hehe, definitely! I have a subscription to Navigraph and they don't always include this information. Next time I'm planning a route that I don't know I'll dig out the real charts!
