August 19, 201114 yr Hi all; I was wondering if there is a way to import flight plan from default FSX flight planner into the CDU with out going through the lengthy normal process? thanks Ali A. August 19, 201114 yr No, but you can save the route once you've entered it. Someone else can chime in on the method as my FSX computer is dead until the new motherboard arrives. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
August 19, 201114 yr Not that I know of. You'll have to use one of the many free/pay route planners out there to create a PMDG compatible plan or roll your own directly into the FMC. I use FSBuild (pay) for mine (looks like EFB will be supplanting it though!), but there are plenty of free options out there. Scott Burns
August 19, 201114 yr I you have another flight planner, you can save it in PMDG format and save it in the PMDG routes folder, then you enter the route name on the company route line in the FMC and thats it Matias SorcinelliCHECK MY CHANNEL!!! - http://www.youtube.com/user/masneoquil

August 20, 201114 yr You can go to simroutes.com, type in your dep/arr airports, generate a flightplan, and save the PMDG .rte file into the PMDG route folder in FSX. Then you can load that flight into the FMC. Makes everything a lot easier. Just make sure your SID and STAR are appropriate to the route. easy, peasy, lemon squeezy. April 1, 201412 yr I see that simroutes.com generates a pretty good flight plan that I can then load into my FMC via the company route LSK in the CDU. But simroutes.com doesn't do anything about estimating your fuel lrequired for the trip. What's a good flight planner that will do that? Thanks... Ralph Freshour www.GMTPilots.com
April 1, 201412 yr Commercial Member What's a good flight planner that will do that? Either the FMC using the method mentioned in tutorial 2, or PFPX. Kyle Rodgers
April 1, 201412 yr Ahh yeah, I forgot about that manual calculation method in tutorial #2. Hmmm...I guess I should get PFPX since that will also give me the flight plan import .rte file for the FMC to boot Ralph Freshour www.GMTPilots.com
April 1, 201412 yr Commercial Member Hmmm...I guess I should get PFPX since that will also give me the flight plan import .rte file for the FMC to boot Worth every penny in my opinion. I have a couple tutorials on my YouTube channel to get you started if you can put up with my apparent (as some random dude put it on my Trim/CG video) arrogance...haha. Kyle Rodgers
April 1, 201412 yr Yes I did your Youtube videos about 2 weeks ago on PFPX...I think I'll have another look B) Ralph Freshour www.GMTPilots.com
April 1, 201412 yr I can not recommend Flightsimsoft with a clear conscience. Which is a shame, since they do have solid enough product. Anyway, there is a rather good free online resource for flightplanning, I urge all to take a look at it - simbrief.com. Now I am not sure if it does actually generate routes, as I take them from elsewhere, but it does do fuel planning, mapping, briefing incl. NOTAM, and, not to forget, downloadable file formats including both PMDG route format and PMDG wind uplink format. --Peter Fabian
