August 25, 201114 yr The real 737NG FMC gives that message when the database is expired - it's not some plot to make you buy the updates... cmon guys. It's a legal requirement in real-life to fly IFR with up-to-date navdata only, hence the FMC warning. I remember a story about a small, now defunct ultra-low cost airline here in Europe which for cost reasons decided to ignore AIRAC cycles. Controllers were reported to go hog-wild over this airline because their pilots weren't able to fly the procedures they were given due to the outdated material they had at hands.The pilots themselves allegedly begged the controllers to finally bring a charge against the airline. That was a really dangerous thing for the pretty dense air traffic over Europe. Dave P. Woycek

Not that I understand everything the plane has to offer, but I can program the FMC and fly the plane from location to location. August 25, 201114 yr It's not allowed to operate "commecially" with a NAVDATA BASE out of data, but most operaters have two navdata bases intalled in the FMC so that they only load a new nadata base one time in two months. On the Real A/C the IDENT page of the FMC shows two navdata base's there is a ACTIVE and INACTIVE navdata base. It's also a handy tool when there is played around in the FMC pre-flight pages like entering a flight plan, just swop the nadata base's and all page are cleared. But that is not simulate on the NGX. Replace entire contents with this: [ident]NavData=AIRAC-1108OpProgram=JUL28DEC31/11CoData=EAG-1108 That will last till end of 2011. On Jan 1st 2012 you will get the message again. I haven't tested this but it should work. You're tricking the FMC into thinking that December 31st 2011 is when that navigraph expires. It might work. Try it out and see. Backup first in case it doesnt. August 25, 201114 yr Folks you asked for an authentic replica and that is what you got. PMDG gave you the real deal. I have some other high fidelity sims and they all do the same thing with the FMC. It is just as the real aircraft, the engineers or pilots have to install updated navdata monthly or the FMC is going to give them the message; NAVDATA BASE out of date. Joe Porter
